Anyone swap the factory halogen assembly for the factory HID projectors? I heard it works but is a difficult swap (not plug and play) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

i dont think its that difficult. no harder than putting hids in the old style headlights.

they both have this done on 06's;

no idea your MY, but if its 08 up, you just need headlights. if its 06-07 then you need a grill, bumpers, bumper support, and then headlights of course. not difficult but maybe expensive :lol:

If i remember right,
I went to the dealership a while back and they told me its hard to do because of the wiring and such !!
And that they wont change it for me.
But if u get them plug and play somewhere outside they would fit & work,
Because as Rob mentioned, its been done before ;)

^^^^thats your first problem, expecting the dealer to KNOW something and give you the correct answer. if everyone here did that,most mods would just be 'thoughts' or 'ideas', IMO.

i listed 2 jeeps that HAVE DONE IT, not 'trying to do it' but 'DONE IT'. and we KNOW there are lots more.

Sounds like I should just give it a try.

i would first contact those guys via PM. they did it 2 yrs ago. they will both share EXACTLY what it takes to make it work.

or look for a sticky.....and try search here. they both posted up about it.

What im saying is that he shouldnt depend on the dealer only and give up after what they tell him.

I just wasnt really into doing that change, thats why i didnt put some time to look here and find the right answer ;)
