I used to valet other vehicles, but would never consider valeting this one. My keys will remain with me at all times.

I valet park every time I visit my uncle. He lives at the Ritz Carlton.

Every time I drop it off I tell them "Its my baby, take care of her" The first few times I came over I told my uncle that im worried about the kids who work for valet. He called them and said "Let me talk to the driver of the Valet, And he said (In his strong european accent) you dont scratch that focking car, or its your ass!" LOL!
So I dont think they will take any chances

--- Also
One time I went to visit my uncle and there was NOBODY AT THE FRONT DESK to escort us to his condo... So I called my uncle... He was PISSED. He pays so much $$$ to live in this high end place and they dont even have someone at the desk?? He literally yelled at the manager, lol So they MAKE SURE to take good care of us when we come over.

Ooh yeah... 1 more thing. They park my Uncles Bentley Continental GTC, and 2010 Rangerover Supercharged all the time. Not 1 scratch.
And one of my Uncles neighbors has a Hennessey Nissan GTR... They valet park that aswell... So I trust them :D
And I STILL do a walk around every time they park my Jeep.

I valet every day. My parking garage is valet only and they know not to fawk with my SRT. My Pops had it out with the manager after they fawked up the 5.7 and now they are on notice. Nothing has happened yet to my SRT. (knock on wood)

I only valet my jeep when we go to a high class area by our house called town center. They have a circle driveway where you pull up to get out and there is 3-4 spots right there on the circle for exotic cars. There are always lambos, ferrari's and bentleys there and the guys know my SRT has to be in those spots or I won't valet. I tip them pretty well so when I show up they will move one of the cars in the front for the SRT. Plus since its right at the front door of the restaurants they only have to drive it about 20 feet:D I would never valet the jeep where you get out and they jump in and take it who knows where to park way out in a valet lot. If I can't see it, no valet for me.

^Agreed with the last part of that statement. My Jeep stays on the main floor and I watch them park it. They know not to fawk it up.

I valet all the time. I'd much rather risk a driver having a little fun than getting a nice door ding somewhere else in the parking lot. When I park myself, I always park in the back forty, but seems someone with a POS will always find you. Besides, they aren't gonna drive it any harder than we do! We just don't want anybody else doing it.:)

That all said, I live in Vegas and am here to tell you like many other things, you get what you pay for. You tip these guys right (when you drop off and pick up) and they'll take care of you.

+1 I only valet if I can see exactly where its going and how its driven there.... typically not more than 50ft.

When I park in the 'back 40' I see how the valets are driving when out of sight... not good.

I think it helps to have a loud Jeep. The Valet drivers arent trying to let the whole world know they are giving your Jeep a WOT. lol

So I think the louder Jeeps are safer from valet abuse..... Just a thought

I still couldn't valet mine; now any other car, no matter the price.

Unless I know the person, no one else will be behind the wheel. Not even at the shops.

No valet ever for me unless I have a rental. They always ask but I say no thanks.

Yes, I valet it and have yet to see a ding, scratch or dent. I use the same parking garages in NYC whenever I do and I tip when I drop off the car not when I pick it up (99% of the time, it's the same person).
Other places (high-end restaurants, catering halls), I drop my wife off and park it myself. Not because I don't want the valets driving it but because it takes a year and a day to get the Jeep back afterwards.

A few of my friends used to valet, and they tell me "yes" it is true that SOME of the people take out the cars but usually only around the block to check it out. If you do intend on using valet and you really are not into the idea of them taking it out, just check the mileage before and try and remember it or write it down.

^ Great idea
Or reset one of your mile counters in the dash... I have 2 counting at all times. Next time, I will reset one of those and see what it says when I pick the jeep up.

Quite a few SRTs in that vid. I dont trust valets as far as I can throw them. Especially if its young kids doing it. Some dont even wait until they're out of sight. I had a guy rev the engine to max as soon as I walked away and I went back screamed at him like, "what the F*** is the matter with you!! I'm 30 feet away and you rev it like you own it!!". He felt pretty stupid. I dont mind if they tap it to feel it jump but some just go too far.

^^^ Next time I valet park I leave my cutouts open. Im not taking any chances...

I would never use any crappy valet parking like that. I would much rather park far away and walk.
