: Warranty Ending Soon...

Hi all,

I am currently hitting 33k on my 08' Jeep GC SRT8, what I am looking for is some recommendations on what I should have the dealership look at before my manufactures warranty ends at 36k?

I know there are probably threads with this stuff... but I looked at a few dozen posts to find nothing that was really directed towards what I was looking for, so I would appreciate any helpful responses.

Thanks!

============== Suggestions from Responses =================

* Check/Replace Front Window Modules (Slow, Automatic roll up issues)
* Check/Replace MyGig/Radio (Slow, Freezing, Audio Output, Auto Dim issues)
* Check/Fix Sunroof Alignment (Notorious for getting out of line)
* Check/Replace Outside Air Temp Sensor (Slow Temp Gauge)
* Check/Fix Trans Leak (Typical Issues, possible leak on to exhaust)
* Check/Fix High 'Auto' Fan speed (Only working in Low setting issues)
* Check/Fix Mirrors (Operational issues)
* Check/Replace Key Fobs (Possible?)

I mean are you having any problems at all with anythings? Or have there ever been any problems?

Guess we will see you start modding more soon :p

Boychiks- I have seen a few issues sporadically come and go... such as the vibration at 70+ mph, myGig system audio issues (no audio), a weird false start (happen once) and a few minor cosmetics... such as my rear interior hatch light cover fell off, almost looked like it was taped in there...umm, my driver side mirror is popped out of its bezel so I get a lot of vibration in that mirror at high speeds (not really sure how that happen, guessing the mirror was closed forcibly or opened to far...? Not sure.).

That's about it... I am just wondering if I should ask them to check the tranny or ??? I don't even know... Just thought someone would have some good suggestions.

Thanks.

My mirriors didn't work properly when I got my SRT8, when took it in for a oil change I mentioned it & they replace both mirriors for me on warrenty, also got new key fobs.

Mine is close to the end too. I had them

replace front window modules (pass was running slow, but there was a TSB out so they replaced both)

replaced the radio. The Sat radio and the auto dimmer weren't working

Re-aligned the sunroof. It seemed fine, but these are notorious for getting out of line. It finally rained here and it leaked.

replaced outside air temp sensor (which is getting replaced again tomorrow). Very slow to react/adjust

trans was leaking, another typical problem. I'd have them check this even if you don't see it now. Mine was leaking onto the exhaust and wasn't hitting the ground.

My high speed fan on the "auto" zone wasn't working, only low speed. Took two trips to get the tech to see the problem.

Don't know what your relationship is with the dealer, but I'd ask for the service manager and tell him the situation and ask him to have his guys go over it in detail.

Yea I will definitely have them check out the mirrors, especially since one of them is misaligned with the outer bezel.

What was the reason for replacing the key fobs? I have 2 that are broken around the key ring area so I can't really use them, but luckily I had a brand no one which I hadn't used yet, but who knows how long that will last?

Thanks for the input.

Wow nice post man... Gives me a lot of thought on what to look at the next couple days before my appt. I will definitely ask them to give it detailed run over, hopefully I will get a good response.

Thanks again for the input.
