: towing...
yupitsnuge 03-01-2010, 11:46 AM Do i need to upgrade the exhaust to the mopar one if I use the mopar trailer hitch? I read somewhere that people dont need to upgrade if you use longer exhaust hangers, but every dealer says that I need to (most havent installed a trailer hitch though, they just go by what the book says). I plan on eventually going with the Corsa S exhaust, but I think I want to leave the stockers on there until im done towing for the summer.

You don't need to do anything to your stock exhaust to use the Mopar hitch but adjust the tips. The book recommends buying some ugly turned down tips for safety only. You do not need those. If you go with the Corsa/ Mopar exhaust you don't need top buy anything else either. I think somebody with a Borla S(what I think you are talking about) bought longer rubber hangers from an auto parts store. This has been posted many times my me and you really should just do a "SEARCH"

CMN is right. You DO NOT need to spend the money on the upgrade exhaust. There are several options. Like he said, search here and you'll find tons of guys who have done it in different ways.
Below link is what they are wanting to sell you, and it is not necessary.

You need to buy a plastic rivet gun. Remove the bumper. Undo old exhaust hanger, replace with hitch. Put old rubber hangers on align resonators and tips, put back on the bumper. It's going to take a couple of hours.

Exactly. Here's a few more tips for you. You need to drill out the plastic rivets in fender wells. If you don't have a drill with an angled head, and don't want to pull the wheels off, just put on a glove, and take a small drill bit appropriate to the size of the center of the rivet head and turn, turn, turn til rivet pops through.
Heres, some info on bumper removal and needed rivets. Gun too if you don't have one. The dealers charge way too much for the rivets.
Page 5 in pdf has a good blow up.

Any questions on bumper removal, pm me and I'll help you out if needed.
Don't know what year you have, but you'll need to do a little research to see how you are going to hook up the wiring for lighting. Different years have different set ups from the factory. See WK link for info, and some of the guys here can help with how they approached their hook-ups.
EDIT....my bad. I see you have a 2010. Sorry about that. Not sure what you have underneath.
