I think I remember that when I first got my 2007 JGC SRT that as soon as I put it in reverse and it sensed something, it would start beeping. I have the parking assist thing on, but it will beep ONLY when I get into the "red dot zone" on the display in the back [I have the camera, the LED dot display, and the beep thing on my truck]. Is this normal? Shouldn't it start beeping with the fist yellow LED lights up?

Nope, only supposed to beep with the red LEDs at one foot out.

welli traded my srt8gc but the back up sensor quit working took it to the dealer the reset it and started beeeping again

Did it just stop beeping or did the LEDs stop working too? I don't know if mine went out or what...it beeps only when in the red LEDs, just not in the yellow.

i tested mine brand new and its correct only beeps in red

According to the manual:

"When the obstacle is detected at a distance of about 59
inches (150 cm) from the rear fascia, the outermost LEDs
of the warning display will be ON with increased brightness.
Along with the LED, a half second tone will occur."

If you are sitting in the driver's seat and you are in reverse, turn over and look at the back middle of the interior roof. You will see a black little pod there with yellow [and if you are close to something, red] LEDs. You can read more if your owner's manual.

I just received my GCSRT8 from Don at Champion Dodge. I too thought I had a problem with backup not beeping when yellows were on. Mine only beeps when the reds come on. According to the manual it should beep when yellow. Does anybodies beep when the yellow lights are on? Or is it a misprint in the manual?

I am thinking it has something to do with the build date, they changed it, and did not update the manual.
