: Just sent my
Dr.Steve 04-18-2007, 01:45 PM SRT8 shift knob to the powder coater to be done in satin black. . . I'll post pics when it comes back, should only take 1 week with shipping (1 day to coat and back out). . . hoping it'll come out the way I saw it in my head:D
Can't wait to see it. I was also going to either powder coat or anodize mine, then I thought differently once I saw it up against that piano black background. It would have been too hard for me to match. With the stock color interior, I say powder coating is the way to go!
Dr.Steve 04-18-2007, 02:31 PM I'll post pics both off the truck and installed, you guys let me know what you think. . . hopefully like greg said it'll match the stock interior well. . gonna be a long week
2007GCSRT8 04-19-2007, 08:41 AM Is this the billet shift knob that a bunch of us bought? I doubt you are talking about the stock knob... ;)

yes, it is the billet knob that says SRT8 on it, not the stock knob
Dr.Steve 05-01-2007, 03:07 PM update: billet knob came back from the powdercoater yesterday, looks great in black (in my opinion), a bit more understated and fingerprints won't show as much on it. I worked the past 36 hours and haven't been home yet to take pics or install, but pics are coming in the next day or two. . .
OurZoo 05-02-2007, 12:42 AM Dr. Steve is a tease! :)
Dr.Steve 05-02-2007, 02:00 PM sorry zoo, I promise pics are coming ASAP, just haven't been outta work to get it done. . . for those of you who have installed the knob: did it come with a set screw or is there one already on the stock knob? I was looking at the shifter last night during my overnight and I see a hole and threads, but did not get a screw with the knob???
OurZoo 05-02-2007, 02:04 PM You probably did get the screw. It was taped to the shifter or bag originally when I received mine.
Dr.Steve 05-02-2007, 02:13 PM crap. . . any idea on how to get a new one???
EDIT: new one on the way courtesy of Chris, thanks again, great knob and great follow up customer service! Second, I have a problem, I tried to post the pics of the shifter and the site is saying they are too large. Anybody here know how to shrink them? I can email pics if someone could post them for me. PM email address if you can help, thanks!
Steve

Looks good mang. If I had done it though, I would have left the SRT8 chromed.
twindragon 05-04-2007, 01:49 AM looks cool. I bet it looks better in person. with the flash of the camera it doesn't do it justice.
AlexT 05-04-2007, 06:00 AM What's up Doc!
Looks different and very nice. I like.
Alex
Dr.Steve 05-04-2007, 07:25 AM thanks for the input / comments guys, much appreciated, it really does look nice and stealthy, as far as leaving the SRT8 chrome, the powder coater (who did the job for $10!) said my best bet would be to repaint it afterwards, but I like it in all black, between the SRT8 on the mats and the steering wheel, etc., I thought the shifter would be better if it were less flashy / obvious. . .
and thanks much for posting the pics Zoo, I owe ya one:)
OurZoo 05-04-2007, 07:39 AM I noticed the dark mats. Me likey them.

Those are Lloyd's mats, I actually bought them from Mr. Hemi a while back, he posted them FS on the forum. I commented on them before, but I'll say it again, they are the thickest, nicest mats with the "proper" SRT8 logo I've found, they cover far more area than the stock mats, and they look great in the black GCSRT8! I generally do take them out and put in my weathertech's if people are riding with me, they get dirty very easily.
Steve
OurZoo 05-04-2007, 09:15 PM I have the same mats, just not black. Mine are a shade of gray a bit darker than the stockers.
