Well I finally got the dashhawk today from my local auto accessory shop... $259.99... same price as tbyrne. This thing is SOOOOO cool! If you don't have one yet then you need to order one form tbyrne or somebody else. I haven't had a lot of time to mess around with it but from what I have seen i will enjoy it.

I was trying to figure out how I would mount it and I remembered I had a mount that I had for my blackberry that I don't have. So I put it on and it worked great. You can get the mount here... http://www.proclipusa.com/default.asp

They have 2 options depending on your radio set up.

Here are some installed pics...

Screws in the dash. :(

There are NO SCREWS in the dash. those 2 screws go through the blackberry mount and then into the mount. This hooks to the dash by 2 side clips. NO WAY would I screw a hole in my dash.

I can take this out and you would never know it had ever been there.

Does it have the capability to measure transmission temperature? Have not had time to download the manual yet before ordering this thing.

I just updated mine and went back out to redo my settings and Trans Temp is in the options. You have to update the dashhawk with the new software and it will have it on there.

Thanks Silver!
SOLD!!!

I'm part of the instant gratification crowd too, you say you got it from your "local" parts place??? Looks like trying to mount it in the storage slot in the console (in front of the shifter) will make it hard to read...

Yeah they are called Auto Accessory and Design. They were selling them for $349.99 and I saw the post on here foor $259.99 so I took it to them and they did it for me. They do tinting, clear mask, diesels, just about everything but motor stuff (heads)...

Putting it down there would be cool but you would have to look down. You'd have to make the hole bigger too. I would order some type of mount when you order the hawk... it would suck not having one.

How did you route the Dashhawk wire.I see where it goes behind the meter back can't see where it goes from there. Thanks

Through the air vent, down under the door under the steering wheel.

I don't have one yet, but I think I'd rather mount it on the left on the A pillar.

Pep Boys has a Bell (for Radar Detector) 3 suction cup generic mount I used to mount just to right of A pillar. Wire is easily hidden in black sealer in door, down to OBD2 port. 10 bucks for the mount. Tried lots of different places and this seemed best as far as line of sight w/o having to look down at dash, vents, etc.

the Bell mount modifications i made were to bend it so it is in line of sight and make a 90 degree bend on the end to capture the Dashhawk. Comes with velcro and is very sturdy (no wobbling).

i tried the same thing with mine but I didn't like it blocking that part of the window. Also mine wasn't as sturdy as it is now. I want somebody to make a new pillar that has the hole for the dashhawk. that would be the best solution.

Do you have to clip off the 13 pin to make it work with the hemi engine? I read that on the Dashawk site it help stop egine codes from coming up. I got my dashhawk coming in friday.

I have a 2007 and did not have to clip pin 13.

since this is just a rebadge Edge products item, they sell pillar pods, but not for our Jeep. see:

http://www.edgeproducts.com/product.php?pk=26&pvk=169

you may be able to make something from this. However, I've seen this in a Ford truck and it blocks the left turn view pretty bad. This is why I mounted low on left, next to A pillar. Do alot of data logging and monitoring and needed to stop looking down when driving.
