Ok who has heard about these? They are called E3, and they look very differemt than a normal plug. Looks like a metal cage with a hole in the top, instead of the normal L shape. They are suppost to be amazing, and you dont have to gap them. Anyone tried em, or am I going to be the first.

...They are supposed to be amazing...
"Amazing" for the companies selling them, they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Anyone tried em...
Hopefully no one here is gullible enough to fall for the ridiculous claims of increased fuel economy, hp and torque gains. Of course, as P.T. Barnum once said...

There's a thread over on LXFourms where someone posted that they suck a$$ and then there are people that posted that they are the greatest thing to adorn a modern internal combustion engine.
I did see an episode of HotRod where they compared regular plugs to the E3 and the E3 did show the gains that the company claims. However, they were small and not worth the extra price of the plugs themselves.

I did see some independent testing on them with actual gains, but i will see.

ResumeSpeed, I'm surprised you answerd this post. Your like the higher power we ask questions to, to get answers that no one eles could possibly know. Is it possible I hit a sore spot here, or are our plugs just unimprovable?????

I can vouche for the stock plugs sucking ass! They claim 100K out of them. Maybe if you want your Jeep running like a Caravan at 95K. I changed to the V-Power version of the stock plug and my truck RIPS! Chryco can shove those stock plugs up their tail pipe.

I just can't believe that people actually fall for some of the claims that "gimmick plug" companies make. It cracks me up when I see people say how much better their vehicles run after installing a new set of "miracle" or "performance" plugs - their comparison is always vs the old worn out plugs!!

I have never heard of anyone having issues with the stock plugs. But do a search on any of the gimmick plugs and you will find plenty of owners who have had problems with them. With all of the effort it takes to change out 16 plugs, WHY would anyone want to install alternate plugs that they may end up having to replace?

"Gimmick" plugs vs new stock plugs: HP gains? (LOL). Torque gains? (LOL). Fuel economy gains? (LOL). Increased penis size? (LOL).

And I bet it "ripped" exactly the same when the stock plugs were new.

Ummm.... nope it didn't b/c it was stock back then.;) The gap is too big coming from the factory. .050 factory? Not for me. They were .055 when I took them out.

Rusume, I'm not saying that I'm falling for a gimmick plug, but I saw these plugs on hot rod tv. Yes they me be sponserd by them, yes they maybe a gimmick for TV. But they did show improvement, and the idea is sound. Does SRT put the best plugs in the world in our rigs??? Is there NO room for improvement? I'm not looking for a miricle add 20 hp with just plugs here, I'm looking for the possiblity of something better because I have to do my plugs soon anyways.

I really don't believe that there is "room for improvement" as far as spark plugs go. The factory plugs are Platinum, the E3's are just standard plugs. Even if the remote and unlikely possibility existed that the plugs such as the E3's were to offer any sort of an "improvement" vs stock plugs, the difference would be difficult if not impossible to detect when compared with brand new stock plugs.

But the bottom line is this - if you do a search on the E3 plugs, or any other "gimmick" plugs (read: "snakeoil"), you'll find that the majority of opinions say to stick with the stock plugs for the best results. Yeah, you'll find a few people that swear that their mileage increased and that their car now burns rubber, but you will also find plenty of owners who had negative experiences (like misfiring!!) and ended up going back to stock plugs.

fair enough. I will take your word for it. This forum is why I put this info up, so that it can be talked about, and someone from SRT tells me whats really going on. Thanks ResumeSpeed, once again your information is gold to me. (I really am a sucker for ads on TV. Anyone needs their veggies cut quick, cause I got the slapchop, need your hair cut with a vaccuum, got that too!!!! I do like Nufinish though. That does make your car shine!!!)

I know I'm late to the game here, but if you do any research at all on spark plugs you'd learn very quickly that platinum is a garbage conductor. Its sole reason for automotive use is lifespan. It degrades slower than say, copper. Copper however conducts much more efficiantly. But when a manufacturer does a cost of ownership for 100K miles as they all do, they can get away without adding the cost of pllug replacement if they can call that a 100k miles service. Now, if you wait that long, what you have is basically a worthless turd tryin to combust fuel. The actual way its written is, platinum plugs have 3 catagories. Platinum, double platinum, and triple platinum, with the latter being a supposed 90k mile plug. (This was explained to me by a representative of Bosch at a vendor day I attended) Irridium is a little different than all. But, you can look the rest up yourself, thats what the net is for. I will say that ALOT of race car drivers run copper plugs and simply change them quite often.

Last year I tried them. Then put the NGK back in and returned them. I am glad I got my money back. But it wasted a good Saturday.
