: ASM supercharger kit....4 weeks.
Razorecko 04-16-2007, 03:41 PM I know builderbill also has a thread going on ASM but I just wanted to give people a heads up from an em I just got from them...
" We just finished up on the prototype, I expect to have production kits in the next 4 weeks " :D
QuickSRT8 04-16-2007, 03:42 PM Did they say how much for the kit?
Razorecko 04-16-2007, 03:53 PM Did they say how much for the kit?
Their website says $ 7,600.00 so I doubt it will be lower than that :(
FastSRT8GC 04-16-2007, 06:37 PM I got excited when i received that email .....> CANT WAIT!!!
MatFab 04-16-2007, 08:22 PM hmm was going turbo route but since other companys are slackin may have to go supercharged...
What, if any, guarantee will there be that the charger will not make your 6.1 go kaboom? What kind of tuning is ASM using??
Razorecko 04-17-2007, 08:40 AM well they have a 3year/36k mile optional warranty on the kit. It uses a piggyback. And the kit uses larger than stock fuel injectors.
StageFright 04-17-2007, 09:01 AM Their website says $ 7,600.00
That is way too much jack for a centrifugal blower system, they are gonna make out big time on that.

That's the price we pay for modding a limited production vehicle.......:o
I would say that considering the research and development required to manufacture the kit plus being able to offer any type of warranty (even as an option) that 8K is a fair price to pay.

Visiting them...this is NOT a GSM or even B&G (sorry GSM, B&G :( ) but a professional operation staffed with computer programmers and Engineers, etc. To my knowledge, they are the only ones that will have a plug and play piggyback system that works in conjunction with their supercharger. They are also the only ones I know of that are in the final stages of a totally programmable piggy back module that can be programmed by the end consumer (although a crankshaft removal is necessary).

gculver 04-17-2007, 11:21 AM Bill, Why is a different crank toner necessary??
FastSRT8GC 04-17-2007, 11:31 AM Must be like some of the stand alone systems. You will need to pull cranck timing for adjusting timing and fuel curves. ....... ?? MAYBE???
BuilderBill 04-17-2007, 11:43 AM Bill, Why is a different crank toner necessary??
GC,
TOTALLY different electronics that would piggyback into our existing PCM. The new 58 tooth? crank toner is designed and already prototyped (I touched the actual parts) to work with a electronics that make the FAST electronics look like garbage. We actually were on their computers looking at the differences between their new electronics and the FAST. The variables were so easy to change I needed NO instructions, just started remapping the variables. Within 1/2 an hour I could change every variable possible at a 50 or 100 RPM difference up to 9,600 rpm vs. the FAST system that is programmable every 500 rpm and has only 1 screen of variables, this has 4 screens of variables. There is no real way to screw it all up...going to the three dimensional map screen, it will show you a "single red mountain" for example in a very smooth field if you screw up one rpm setting...like A/F setting for the screw up at .5 vs. 12.5 Hope this makes sense.
AFTER the remove crank version is released, they will be releasing a version that uses crank sensors and pickups on the damper? I believe. Yes, it will be more for the guys who don't want to remove their cranks and don't mind a few extra wires to be plugged in rather than a perfectly stock like setup.
Damn, what happen to the distributers with points?
Bill
gculver 04-17-2007, 12:33 PM Yeah, that would make sense--ASM electronic specific toner for better calibrations. Remove the crank, what a PITA. Maybe the cam/crank sensor version will be out soon. Good Luck on the build! One things for sure, It will be one of the most expensive JGC on the planet and hopefully one of the quickest!!:D
El Jefe 04-17-2007, 04:14 PM So what kind of numbers? Wheres it mounted? Intercooler?
Razorecko 05-08-2007, 08:45 PM :D 1 more week
FastSRT8GC 05-08-2007, 09:07 PM :D 1 more week
I got word mine will ship tomorrow or by weeks end at latest!!! :D :D

FAST,
I am right around the corner!
LOL...As you saw by the photos, You & I will be proud of our supercharger setups. You may need a few more cubes thought!!!
Bill
PS.
Ok...we are both in trouble from what we see coming out this summer!!

LOL, I will meet you half way. I will have a better chance on the street with traction;) ;)
What is coming this summer??? ASM's big block?

BuilderBill 05-09-2007, 02:39 AM wat is going on here wats coming this summer. ok...off the record, a BIGGER displacement than my 426 and a lot more hp than my supercharged stroker. Thats one hell of a lot of hp!!!
New deal just came up. I will be shipping my toy to ASM for the install. The 426 engine arrived there yesterday and will now be torn apart. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it!!
Bill.
