YES very much. Due to the new deep wonderful sound you will have your foot to the floor more, in turn you will decrease your mileage;)

Actually you should get a little bit better mileage, the more efficient you make the motor the better mileage you will get.

if anything it would most likely make it better but if your worried about milage why do you drive a srt8?

So, what are the down sides to throwing a set of headers on an otherwise stock GCSRT? I like the idea of a little better sound, but I don't want to mess up anything.

I could see where someone could justify his current mileage but refuses to do something that could make it worse. :dunno:

if you think about it how could better flow hurt gas millage? i think its safe to say your milage will not suffer. mine has not. as far as sound goes. the sound is so mean, but its not that it makes it much louder its just you can hear it breathing when you get on the gas. cold starts are great. i find my self starting the truck with my remote start when its 65 degrees out just to hear it warm up :D . then there is the performance. headers are a great mod all around. i will warn you though you MUST buy a dash hawk. you will be throwing codes every 30 miles or so... kind of a pain but in my opinion the juice is worth the squeeze. when the engine light is on the performance does not suffer but its annoying. for me when i did my exhaust and intake in the begenning the gas milage went UP significantly... those are two mods that will easily pay for them selves 100%. as far as messing anything up my dealer assured me that a chip, intake, exhaust, and headers will not voind any part of your warranty, however, as you can guess if there is a problem related to the mods, rattle check enging light etc this is not covered, one could obviously expect this. if you really care one way around this is to have the dealer install these things.
blahhh. thats about all i know. if i left anything out dont hesitate to ask. i love my headers... a little expensive all said and done but everything for these monsters is. good luck and i hope this helps.

Interesting. I wonder if there's a dealer near me that can install headers and be cool about it...
