I registered on this forum mainly to help out my friend who's in the market for an SRT8 Jeep. I was looking at these too last year, but ended up buying a 2008 G8GT instead because I drive alot for work and figured I could use the extra gas mileage, still like the SRT8's though.

Anyhow, he's looking at 2 in the greater boston area, one is dark blue w/ 40,000 miles 2007 and all the options except for the DVD entertainment package...even has backup cameras, asking $34,000!! The second is a silver one that has DVD package and navi but doesn't say whether or not it has backup cameras, if it has the other 2 options would that also be included? Anyhow that one is also a 2007 w/ 30,000 miles and listed for $32,000

My buddy is leaning for the higher mileage one I think BC its the only one he's tested, I'm telling him to go for the lower mileage model...he currently has a silver '03 lincoln LSV8 so I guess part of the reason he wants the other one is due to the color diff.

Anyhow, was hoping you guys could point out any common issues that we should look for when we troll the dealers this president's day weekend and he pulls the trigger...I heard there may be issues w/ the stock runflats?? Anything else transmission wise etc.? How is it in the snow?? I know it has AWD, but my boss had both a Cayenne turbo and a X5 w/ the 4.8 and due to the high power and wide tires neither were too great in the snow, the cayenne was almost scary to drive...I imagine snow tires would make a big diff.

any help is appreciated

If it has the nav it has the backup camera. There were very few options on the 2007 models, here is a link that lists them: http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_srt8_features.htm#2007

$34k is way too high for an '07 with 40k, but being that is the inflated "asking" price he should be able to negotiate it down below 30k. If not, tell him to keep looking, there are some decent deals out there and it would be worth driving a few hundred miles to other dealers if necessary. Do an online search and find as many as you can, narrow down from there.
