I picked up my 2010 GCSRT8 2 weeks ago and think I have been pretty easy on it. I have at 3 GC Overlands with 5.7L and 300C 5.7 and never did any type of break in without any problems. Should I be doing anything special with the SRT or just drive the truck and enjoy it? I now worry that I have stomped on it 6 or 7 times from a stop to 60 during the first 500 miles. Can this cause me any issues with the truck moving forward?
Thanks again...

No owners manual with mine! Saw the thread tonight though and hope to get mine soon from the dealer. Mine was built the first week of January yes a little over a month ago, youd think they could get it together by then but apparently needed a little extra time!

Congrats! Big difference, eh?, between the 5.7 and the SRT8!
I broke in my '06 Mag SRT8 firmly....the day it rolled off the carrier at the dealership...under the belief it is necessary to seat the rings...sooner than later. That motor served me well and never needed oil between its overly frequent 3K mile oil changes.
For my Jeep, I probably stayed closer to the owners manual page as posted above.
Sounds like you will be just fine. Enjoy.

Guess I'm screwed. Wish they still put owners manuals in these cars. Dang CD is still in wrapper where the manual now resides.

Well now at 600 miles which seems to be outside the break in period. Wish I had seen the post sooner with the break in information or at least the dealer could have provided me with some guidance. What type of issues would I have if something went wrong during these past 600 miles?

I do a break in, 6,200 miles of it. What type of issues, rings that didn't seat properly, or the worst result, a weak motor, been there done that.

I waited till I had 600 miles on it before I went to the track. :D
But those 600 miles prior, I did drive moderately and varied the speed and did not do any WOT.
