Nice job, looks factory installed. Is it a touchscreen?

Looks great. So you lost steering wheel controls and uconnect? Also, I noticed your garage door opener in the cup holder. The Jeep is really easy to program the Homelink system to open/close the garage doors.

nice, buy a grill for the sub and you'll gain some emergency storage space back and protect the sub.

yes, its a touchscreen screen, I got it from crutchfield, 15% off and reverse camera free ($250 value).

I tried to program the homelink, but doesnt work with my garage, and yes, I lost Uconnect function. About the steering wheel controls, I still have it, got the pionner add-on.

Looks good. sucks about the U-connect.

I put my amp under the cargo lid. Fits nicely and totally out of sight. If you need more room, just pull the wires and remove the box.

Good luck with it.

the Pioneer has a bluetooth add-on as well so those who don't want to lose UConnect could get that as well. it uses the factory speakers and it's own microphone, and lets you make/answer calls right from the touchscreen

to the original poster, installation looks really great! i have heard the D3 actually lets you adjust the color of the button lighting to match stock, is that true?

Ron, i had a Z1 not too long ago for my G35. the thing is one of the greatest units i've ever played with (i had all the options too, ipod, bluetooth, XMNavtraffic unit, etc). from what i understand, the Z2 is just a slightly revised version of the Z1.

i didn't have it for long (decided to part out the G35 since i am looking to get the SRT8 soon) but i felt that for the price (even though it's alittle high) you get alot of high end features... i'm a big fan of the hard drive based navigation versus the D3 where you need to swap in the navi DVD to plot a route. the Z1 let you upload pictures to the hard drive for your background and for photo caller ID if you had the bluetooth module. the ability to rip 10GB of music into the hard drive and never have to carry your favorite CDs is a major plus also.

that being said, the Z series is not for everybody since it's more than 2x the price of the D3. if you don't use navi every day, or don't mind swapping discs, the D3 in my opinion is a very viable option since all the extra modules for the Z also fit it (the bluetooth, ipod, navtraffic, etc)

basically, i think the D3 gets you like 75% of what the Z2 will, but for less than 50% of the price. i'm the type of person that always likes the most high end stuff, so i would probably get a Z2 over the D3 myself, but both are excellent units. i have been a fan of the Pioneer video units since my friend got the original AVIC-N1 a few years back.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it installed and where do you get the bezel from?

I too am between the Z2 and D3...I think the D3 is a much better value, but the Z2 looks incredible.

I got the bezel from ebay, lee autoparts (chrysler/dodge dealer) for 80 dlls, also got the metra kit, to fit with the Nav bezel.

I got the D3 because crutchfield.com had it for 850 dlls and they give you the camera free, promotion ends on April 30.

About the bluethoot, been reading several sites, and they said isnt so good. The guy from crutchfield told me that too, by phone.

You can get the metra kit on installer.com, I dont remember the part number. Check avic411.com for info about all pioneer stereos and bypass.
