hey folks...the wifey's lease is up on her IS350 and she wants an SUV to haul the dogs around in. Anyway, lookin' at the SRT-8..nice. Question is what are the 1/4 mi. times for a stocker? Can't have her outrunnin' my '08 F-250!!! (I can get the IS by a couple tenth's) Just don't tell her 'bout superchargers, right?!

Thanks

Stock the jeep runs low 13's. A intake and tune can get 12's depending on your altitude. With a cai, tune, UD pulley, and catback I ran a 12.6@107.

yeah, I think she'll out run you in a Jeep SRT8 ;) With a supercharger -- it will run high 11s all day and not break a sweat. What's her email addy, we'll steer her right with the mods :D

i dont think the 350s are that fast at all...

dont take this the wrong way... but if you are asking the question then you dont understand the jeep...

the stock jeeps get way faster then a stock lightning... thats a 5.4 blown you have more weight also... by way faster i mean- the fastest stock L ive seen ran a 13.6... on a 90deg day i ran a 13.3 (slowest time)

These Jeeps are awesome for sure!! Best looking suv, too!! I'll pass on givin' y'all her info!! lol!! Only one modder per family!!! Thanks

Spartan in your 08?

As they mentioned, CAI and a tune and the Jeep should be running 12s (one member has run a 12.5 on a good CMR, CAI and cat-back).

F250 running 12"s? gotta see that one lol. you must have 20K in that motor. if so you must be a gear head and obviously know what an srt8 runs.

Easier and much cheaper than you think....LOL

Diesel programming leaves a lot on the table from the factory, you'd be surprised and how much hp you get just out of a tuner (with CAI, exhaust/DPF delete and of course gauges).

If you are dropping $20k in a diesel motor and are only in the 12s you did something very wrong or are running very big tires :D

like I said I would like to see it on you tube. I have no idea. Just sounds awesome! I know the D power can do amazing things. Point being anyone with a 12 second 8000lbs truck knows what a SRT8 does stock. No big deal.

Here's one with a tuner, CAI, dpf delete on the exhaust, and convertor that ran a 12.27:

My bad then my man! I need to look into a pick me up truck. I always need room to haul stuff. If I could do it in the 12's that would make me happy! You got any good forums with info to go to? Thanks!

powerstroke.org or powerstrokenation.com...of course if you are fond of the blue oval. The new (08 and up) D-maxes and cummins can make power too but a little more involved than the 6.4 strokes. This is a great forum btw, you guys are cool!! Thanks for the info.

so for around $4K in mods you can easily get one of those to run mid 13's? If so that is freaking awesome! What is the down side of this? I'm guessing they don't handle too well?? How is the gas mileage?

For around $4k in mods you can get the 08-10 Fords with the 6.4 Twin Turbo to run mid 12s-low 13s.

Downside...warranty issues, IMO. Ford is well aware of the aftermarket diesel performance products.

Not sure what the modded 6.4s get for MPG though.

I have a 01 7.3l Ford that gets 12-14mpg rolling on 38/15.50R20 tires and 4.56 gears :D

Mine went from 12.5/13.5 mpg stock to 15.5/16.5 tuned. And yes, warranty is the issue, however if the mods are kept to the tuner/exhaust/cia it can be returned back to stock for dealer visits. I lifted a head on mine, hence gaskets and studs, some however do not have any issues. The boost and drive pressures are pretty crazy on race tunes. If you keep to the mid-hp tunes, seems to be best reliablity, I'm not that guy though. Anyway, I'm gonna go test drive an gcsrt-8 this week, just remember fells, if it's rollin' coal, be ware!! LOL!!:D
