this is supose to be the best of the best.

I always get the newst radar detector and laser jammers... they are priceless. If you are driving around with out these things your a sitting duck.

detector $450
jammer $400
slowing down from 100mph to 30 before a cop gets you... pricless

click on this link and do you self a favor. read the features. its liked to gps. you can program places and bands so if you drive by your local target store it doesnt go off like all the others have but if a cop is throwing a k band by that target it will go off.... very clever piece of equipment.

i like my v1, love the signal locator & bogey counter. v1 has no memory though, so you have to use your own :)

i am considering the zr3 shifter from escort though. it's kind of pricey at $500 (w/ install), but the real thing holding me back is the external placement of the transceivers. they need to be where they are to work right, however i'm pretty sure they'll get stolen mighty quick, where i live. they are the most expensive part of the setup, not the display unit, i believe.

My Jeep came with some Bel in-dash set-up installed with shifters. I can't even find the model number on it so I can get a manual from Bel for it. :(

Looks neat, you're still screwed if he's using instant on and tags you. Hehehehehe.

The Bel is the same thing as the Passport SR1, so it's very good BUT make sure the shifters are turned on. The factory default setting is to detect LIDAR only and not jam. Most installers do not know this and fail to turn on the jamming function. The Passport SRX in my SL500 was not jamming and I almost got caught with my pants down before I figured that out.

How do I figure that out? There is a seperate switch right next to the radar detector that I always turn on with it, but I really have no idea what it does. The downsides of buying a used car......

Does yours look like the one pictured at this link???
http://www.radarbusters.com/products/beltronics/rx75.asp. If so then press both buttons on the right side at the same time and this should get you into the programming functions to set all the options, there are some display options, as well as jammer options, etc. I don't recall exactly how to move thru and set things off the top of my head but if it looks like this one I figure you can find the manual for this model and go from there.

Check here for manuals, look at the RX75plus manual under the professional series.

Nope. It looks like an older or lesser model than that. I'll have to get a pic of it. I'm really thinking I want something newer.

One more question before I see a pic of it. When you flip the switch next to it do you get any sounds (as talkback that you've turned something on)? Can you get a pic of one of the front jammer trancievers too? Have you had any Lidar alerts since owning it? I know I could help you if I could see it and trace the wiring from that extra switch but I don't when I'm coming to Houston next. I'll be there in August for sure and probably will be there at least once before Aug, just not sure when.

Yes, there is an audible beep like a detector powering up.

Tommy - Yes, I'd love to upgrade, given the cash. :)

Actually, I take back what I said. After watching the commercial on the site and viewing the demo's...this thing is wild!

I'm considering one.

I just bought one tonight. All I can say is...WOW!!

This is by far the best Radar detector I've ever owned. I had no idea you could actually change the Radar information displayed! You can even view "expert" mode, where it actually shows the Frequency detected!

AND the USB port for upgrading, GPS (which actually displays your current speed) etc etc.

I love this thing. Thanks for making this thread tommy.

Damn Mango, you've bought quite a few expensive accessories this last couple of weeks! Aren't you glad you found this sight? I'm sure your wallet isn't lol.

I like reading stories like this....gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that school teachers/coaches are well taken care of. :)

Just proves once again that hard work pays off. I've been working an awful lot of 16-hour shifts lately. My stash is getting to the point where I'll feel safe to pull the trigger on some mods I've been reading all about!

Maybe I'll have a mod thread to call my own soon.....
