i just signed up..i am picking up my 2006 Jeep srt8 black on tues or wed. I have never had a "muscle car" before. i had a sti fully bolted and tuned i had a e46 m3 and now just getting out of a stage 3 mkv gti..
this will be my daily driver and i jsut wnated to know a few thinngs I can do to the car to squeeze out some more hp. I don't think i would ever do exhaust on it
I was thinking intake and a tune? I did some research on a predator tune how does that work? Does it com pre loaded with tunes? or do i need to get it on dyno and have someone tune it for me?
also..my car is coming with aprox 90,000 km on it > alot of my friends are saying i am crazy to get a car with so much mieladge. I am in Canada so i am not sure how many miles that is. Anyhow are there any major known issues to look out for on 2006 jeep srt8? I will have 3 years extented warranty anyways but I would like to know. I am sorry of these are to many questions at once I am just eager to get this thing and want some info before i take posesion

Thats about 41,000 miles. Not too too bad. You will love the Jeep!!

Cant speak about the higher mileage questions but the predator tuning is a good first start. Each predator comes with canned tunes ranging from stock adjustments to the 93 CAI tune. I installed the 93 CAI on my 07 and noticed a pretty good increase in throttle response. An downloaded/purchased tune or CMR tune is the next best option and I am waiting to find the right vendor. Claims are everywhere that the CMR truly wakes up the Jeep. Either way, coming from an import to a 6.1 liter V-8 you'll be impressed! I know I was. Good luck and welcome

Thanks for the warm welcome..so the predator comes with a uploaded tune and all u do is flash it. Anyone know what whp increase u would get with intake and that tune on 91 or 93 oct?
I dont know how comfortbale i would be with buying a tune thats from someones else car..? I mean all ecus are a tad diff and all octance are diff espeically canada vs usa..
so maybe the pred tune with a intake would be a nice start for me . I need this car to be reliable as its my daily driver and i have responsabilities..
is 15-20 whp a good guestimate with pre loaded tune and intake?

Sounds like a good deal. These Jeeps are a bargain at any price! (Just ask most sellers! lol)

28.5 is good - mine had a little less and I paid 32k on a buyout....

90k klm is about 56k miles. There is 1 on here with 100k miles

The predator is a great idea. Not only is it a flash tunner but it is an OBDII diagnostic and alows data logging. I have heard bad things about the 93 cai tune, too much timing and would stick with the 91. A CMR tune is the best thing short of actually getting it dyno tunned. Basically you call one of teh companys and tell them your mods and they look at the same vehicle with similar mods as a starting point. From there you can do some hard acceleration runs and normal driving data logging on the predator and send it to them. They will then look over the data and revise the tune based on what they are seeing. I went with DCX Depot and I got 3 revisions included with my tune.

Also for more power a cai is a good idea. The stock muffler is also a little restrictive and you can swap just that out for a flow through with built in xpipe for ~90$ and it should help out without costing you a lot. You could also have a muffler shop remove the rear resonators but this has a tendency to cause droning in the car so beware. Lastly an Under Drive Pulley is a cheap and easy way to pick up some more hp and does not affect driveabillity. With my sig mods not including the springs or links I went 12.613@107.42 in the 1/4.
