Cool phone! Hope you get your moneys worth out of it.

The iPhone will single handedly render all phones before it obsolete.

The iphone is due out in June. Hopefully this will hold me over until then.

iphone will be like a ipod... poor battery life. I have had more phones in 2007 then most of you have had in a lifetime. I sell them for a living and trust me the iphone will not be so hot.

Dude why would I just make a bunch of **** up? So I can have people like you degrade me?

* No OTA.
* Cannot install third party software.
* No expandable memory. I think 8GB is enough memory, but the for iPod video lovers, its a disadvantage.
* No removable battery. If the battery is broken, you send the phone to Apple instead of they sending you the battery. So no problem. Coming to using the extra battery, its definitely a disadvantage. But how many people are using extra batteries for their mobile phones? Its very small amount. So I don’t think its a big deal.

What do you think? I know most of you disagree with me. If you are, please prove me that I am wrong.

It will be very hot, THAT's HOT.(Paris Hilton) I hope that cingular is not the only one to get it. Everyone with an iPOD will want one. I used to be a non believer in apple, then I bought one. Now i have three MacPro, iMac and a Macbook Pro. Like the commercials say "It just WORKs" os X is seamless and every detail is carefully though out.

And no blue screen of death or sys errors.

A little touchy are we!? WHEN did I degrade you? I never once personally attacked you in any way. Last time I checked, we were simply talking about a PHONE. SHEESH.

Getting back on topic....the iPhone will be evolutionary as far as I'm concerned. First of all, the screen is far superior to any screen out there. No third party software?!? Excuse me....it runs OS X. Yes, the full OS. There will more MORE third party software out there than for any previous phone. The fact that it's a full blown iPod, with widescreen playback....again proves the point that it's far superior. The battery issue remains to be seen, however it's an apple product and you can simply walk in to any Genius Bar in an Apple store for help.

Not to mention, that the SOFTWARE is what makes the phone. Look at any other Cell phone software out there. It's HORRIBLE. The interface on the iPhone will blow your mind. The wireless cabilities alone are incredible.

OSX is not third party if it is made by Apple.

Lets leave it at this....

We are talking about a phone that has yet to launch and NOBODY knows the true pros/cons about it. I am constantly changing phones (weekly basis) and I see a lot of good and bad ones. You have to see things from my point of view, I sell these phones and I have to deal with the users. Phones are becoming so cool and advanced and a lot at the same time are becoming less user friendly.

Lets talk about why Ge2 has yet to post pictures of his new wheels....:D

I never said OS X was NOT third party. UGHH

What I am SAYING is that it's running OS X, and SO you will be able to use thousands of THIRD PARTY applications RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. The possibilities are limitless for the phone. There is plenty of information right here about it.

and yes, WHERE ARE THOSE PICTURES GREG!!??! :) :)

I believe that apple has fixed the battery issue. I know with the iPod they had some bugs.

Mango, your right just one, maybe two.... well ok three trips to the genius bar. I would have to say this is the one of the downsides of apple, but yet still better then any other pc company. I think it just bothers me that i actually have to take it to someone. I am used to my windows piece of garbage that i can build, rebuild install reinstall reinstall again, again. Kick punch set on fire......

I don't care about all the silly banter about how good the iPhone will be. I'll buy it and use it for about 2-4 weeks, just like I do any other cell phone.

Now, the part that I DO take exception to is that you've had more cell phones than I have had...... LOL.

My two daughters have (we counted last weekend) 32 of my previous cell phones. Thats just from the last 2 and a half years :) And those are ONLY those that are completely out of my stable. I still rotate through about 12-15 phones, plus those that my wife has.

:)

Just admit it.... you're not the end all be all of cell phones. We're all junkies :)

G'Father..... I've had my eye on the n95 as well. Some very slick features. Lately I've just been on a qwerty-only binge.

Funny enough.... I've had the old V70 out a lot lately, when I want something small.

I know what you mean Greg, my last phone which I am still holding on too for now the p990i is so easy to text with, almost makes me feel old school for going back to this phone. But with kids around a 5mp camera is always useful.

SilverSRT8

the p990i is a very cool phone. My buddy has one. All Sony Ericsson's are good phones.

As far as me owning phones... I get so much crap for switching all the time. In 2007 I have had 9... in 2006 I had close to 20. I have 2 lines (work & personal) of service so that helps me rotate faster.

Greg, we should make a list of every model we have had since the beginning of 2006..... I think I may have met my match!

The 32 are just those that my daughters play with remember. ;)

It doesn't matter in the slightest. We're both stupid when it comes to cell phones. New ones don't do things differently enough to warrant buying them every month or two. We just do it because we're suckers and always want people to see our new and fancy phones. Admit it.

I sell them for a living and trust me the iphone will not be so hot.

Now, how can you say this, and then say "We are talking about a phone that has yet to launch and NOBODY knows the true pros/cons about it" [as a retort to someone else who's positive on it]? If you don't know enough about it yet, why would you say that we should "trust you" that it will "not be so hot"? You can't have it both ways, unless you're predisposed to not liking it.

(Besides, if you're touting Windows Mobile products as being good, it's obvious that you CAN'T be trusted...)

:D

(Just having fun, really -- but I'm looking forward to the iPhone, and won't be disuaded 'til I get to check it out for myself.)

I buy them to have the newest fancy phone too but I also do it for work purposes. I am a sucker for it and waste a lot of money on it too! Maybe we should save our money and buy car parts not cell phones....?

I was in such a bad mood yesterday and this was not the only dumb thing I said! I said many things that were stupid and didn't make sense. I was judging something at first and not knowing for sure how it was. That is why I said the second part about it not being out and nobody knows. I had spoke too early. My foot is now in my mouth about this iphone.... no more comments from me on it.

Not saying I don't believe you, but I always hear this mentioned about iPods, but I have a 8G Nano that NEVER runs out of battery life. I can use it for a 12 hour work shift and 2 hours at the gym and still have 1/2 the life left. Maybe that was a problem on old iPods because it certainly doesn't seem to be one now!

i used to be on Nextel and got myself a Blackberry 7100i about 2 years ago.... i'm a blackberry man for life now. i love them

just switched myself over to Cingular and got one of these.... new Blackberry Pearl red edition. camera (only 1.3 mexapixel though), MP3, MicroSD card slot, excellent email connectivity, and my favorite part, bluetooth tethering to my laptop for internet connection. i love this thing.

5MP camera in a cellphone is ridiculous! my Nikon D70 digital SLR is only 6.0MP lol
