: 2009 Srt-8 Pics?
EX-SVTMAN 04-09-2007, 04:37 PM I'VE BEEN HEARING A LOT OF RUMORS ABOUT THE 09 WITH 500 HP.
Has anyone seen any pics or sketches of this behemoth? If so, please post a pic or a link.... or something.
Regards,
EX-SVTMAN
HoustonSRT-8 04-09-2007, 05:25 PM We're just now seeing the '08 pics
EX-SVTMAN 04-09-2007, 05:44 PM I Get That But If An 09 Is Coming Then There Should Be Something That Shows Us Whats Happening. The 08 Is The Same Thing With A Better Entertainment System. If 09 Is Getting 500 Hp, I Would Think There Are Concept Drawings Or Something..... Am I Off For Thinking This?
squigmang 04-09-2007, 05:46 PM im sure there are but they are deffinatley not going to be released any time soon
EX-SVTMAN 04-09-2007, 05:54 PM I Don't Get It..... We Get To See An All New Camaro 2 Or 3 Yrs In Advance But Not A Vehicle That's Already In Production?
Sucks Imo.

The 2008 models are not yet in production...
The "Camaro" is a concept of a future model, just like the Jeep Trailhawk that we have photos of.

I believe the '09 will have the 6.4L as it will be the last year of the current WK body style and the 2010 will be the new body style.
I think it's going to be something as the last year of the ZJ in '98 when they introduce it with the 5.9L.
I guess that towards the end of the year we should be getting more info on the specs for the '09 SRT8.

2011 model year seems more likely.
tawny 04-09-2007, 08:32 PM With all of the uncertainty surrounding DCX and the sale of the Chrysler unit, I have serious doubts on future persormance upgrades making it to production. The Camaro is an entirely new model, whereas the SRT8 GC is a performance variant of the GC. We should see the next gen GC before the SRT8 version.
EX-SVTMAN 04-10-2007, 04:53 AM Makes Sense. Ok, You Sold Me ..... Lol.
Good Stuff Guys.
Mango 04-10-2007, 07:43 AM .. Am I Off For Thinking This?
YES
.
.
The WJ series was from 99-2004 , and the new model introduced in 2005 . so in wk series it started from 2005 till 2010 .. so i expect the 6.4 engine will be seen at the all new model which will be in 2011 !! .. i dont think jeep will use the 6.1 engine for 3 years only

Why not? Other manufacturers have used engines for less time. The 6.4L is just a punched out 6.1L. It's not a whole new motor.
Juggernaught 04-11-2007, 10:19 AM I am worried about the 6.4L being cancelled. :( If Congress passes that legislation that mandates a 4%/year improvement in fuel economy, big high-performance engines will be the first to go, especially in the Jeep GC SRT8. I'm afraid that a 13 mpg SUV will be low hanging fruit for increasing Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE). I really hope I'm wrong about this.
DRIHEAT 04-11-2007, 10:33 AM Making the GC a "car" (in .gov speak) will go farther to kill the GC SRT8. The CAFE standards will do to the high performance trucks what insurance companies did to muscle cars in the '60s-'70s.
sbkim 04-11-2007, 10:34 AM Well, I hope Jeep will mate the new 6.4L with a better tranny to enhance fuel economy. Perhaps even have ability to shut down couple cyclinders :)
Untouchable 04-11-2007, 11:28 AM agreed with all the above.
gm is pushing the camaro because they hane nothing like that right now and want to line sales once it hits the dealers.
the gc is a current model and pimping a future models with all these supposed goodies will make people wait out for it and will slow current sales. Pure business.
I too fear that our gas-drinking monstrosities are like T-Rex. Both were threatened by climate changes and were the rulers of their kingdoms, tyrants if you will:D . The pinnacle of the age of excess:) I love my jeep

I was able to own many of the "M Cars" of the 60s ( All MoPars ) 60,62,66,69 and a 72. We woke up one day and they were all but gone. This is what is going to happen to the SRTs. Thank You Mr. Bush you S.O.B.
