: 12.89
Finally got to the track. After some tire pressure/ traction control issues. I ran 26 lbs on all four, with only the factory traction control switched off. 12.89, but with an eta of 102mph:eek: . I only manually shifted the 1-2 @ 5200 to avoid the more-noticeable "modded" hiccup, but then let the automatic do the rest. Of course, (Murphy's law) 3rd gear overrev'd and cut me off way to early!!!! 3 other traction limited runs were @ 104.9, 105.7 and 105.9.
I definitely think the 12.8 was conservative considering the 102.

For the record, with the mods listed below, I was UNABLE to rev my GC above 1300 @ the line. My Vigilante stall is too much for my tire/differential set up at the moment! With "just" a 2800 launch, my front left and back right had spun wildly! The run you see here was the softest launch I could pull off w/out breaking the tires loose. And the 60' was @ 1.77! Oh yes - AND STILL NO TUNE!
Someone please tell me the Jeep Rubicon Dana 44H with smart-lock will fit our trucks!

Brendan, good runs. That is EXACTLY what my '07 does now with the converter. Spins the left front & right rear. We need to get all the power to ALL 4 corners or buy 1 drag radial for the front & one for the rear! LOL
I believe the phrase from GOTSTROKE is "the 2 wheel peel".

HoustonSRT-8 04-09-2007, 07:41 AM P&P heads, cam, stall and only a 12.8? Shouldn't that be faster?

We can't hook up these things unfortunately. The additional power is being wasted on the line with a loss of traction.

HoustonSRT-8 04-09-2007, 08:42 AM Hmm....what about heads/cam without the stall? Was BDNJ blaiming the loss of traction directly on the stall?

The only mod i really have (ok, CAI & catback..neither that I think help much) is the 2600 stall. After install is when I lost traction. NOT saying don't do the converter, I believe it is GREAT. Funny how the guys with the converters can not hook up. I remember reading 1st from General Confusion...he has the same issue.
We are spinning our wheels (2 wheel peel) without traction help.
Come on guys...I am pioneering a stroker and a supercharger, need some help here!

Blown-WK 04-09-2007, 10:41 AM I think those are damn good results considering the traction loss. Kind of weird that the front left and right rear spin when the converter is flashed up to the correct rpm. I am running a 2600 stall in mine and it doesnt do that. It will chirp when I release the brake but the Vari-lok axles in the WJ really help out. I wonder if the converter is sending false readings to the tcm and causing the problem. Are any of you throwing a CEL?

Thanks Blown...No CEL....I remember back to who was with me and the guys that pointed out the dreaded "2 wheel peel" and it was PRE-converter install at Rockingham.

Hey guys. Just got back to the office. I think the stall is a mild step back for me. It draws hp and I can't really put it to good use out of the hole. If you listen on the video, I still chirp on the holeshot, but can't really launch the truck anywhere close to where the stall would allow.
I do like the stall and will go to any length to adjust the drivetrain around it.
What you guys didn't see were the other runs where I spun wildly with full traction off forcing the autostick to push me into 2nd at like 20mph! Flat out fell on it's face! I'm not exactly sure what % of power goes to the front, but my shop swears the rear locker is all we need.
As far as the 12.89 @ 102....it's 3-5 mph off my other trap speeds. The truck hiccuped right @ 100 and then hit 4th. I figured I lost approx .2 tenths on the bottom and .2 tenths on the 3-4 shift. With that included I'm in in the low 12's. (All that I ever figured for these mods). AND STILL NO TUNE.
Bill - I'll be right behind you with the s/c, once we can figure out how to put the pwr down.

candyman 04-09-2007, 11:45 AM Did anyone try running with the traction control ON. I would think that would help with eliminating wheel spin.

I ran it once with full traction on. No good. All of first gear was limited. It felt like I was in a stick and taking off in second. It was so slow, I thought I broke something!

Candy,
The day I rented Rockingham, the JGC logged well over 100 runs with 4 drivers using almost every conceivable approach to launch. Traction on traction off etc. 2 of the guys had zero experience racing a hemi jeep and my instructions to them were as vague as possible. The only possible way to launch was to launch at about 1000 rpm and spin the tires, therefore not achieving the 60' times I made pre converter.
I may start a new thread to get more exposure on this as it will be important to any one who does anything to add HP to their Jeeps.
FastSRT8GC 04-09-2007, 01:28 PM Those times should be faster, at least the Trap speed should be. My despicable times of 13.10 with just a B&B, Volant we trapped 104. Even spinning you should trap a higher MPH.
We may have some issues with the stall. Who has heads cam with out the stall? I will by weeks end. So let the testing begin.

Those times should indeed be faster. The truck practically shut down while over-reving in third! I damn-near rolled the last 200'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go~RillaWRX 04-09-2007, 08:10 PM I guess the TCm is the main issue with the locker, because the dana should have tons of options for a locker. I also believe this is all you would need. With both the 285 tires putting power down, you would not have near the issues with the traction.

I totally agree. My shop is hunting for the diff as we speak. Thx.
UDLOSE 04-10-2007, 10:22 PM When you get your flash you will be a 12.20 or 12.30 car.I think your computer is freaking out:)

From the way the guys with the '06's are talking, the flash with definitely help the truck harness the addt'l power.:D
