I've found a wierd glitch in my computer/mpg calculations. I have a long, light traffic, stretch of autobahn that I drive to work on every day. I usually max it out at 163-164 for a few min at a time every day. I decided to play around and reset the mpg while driving and see what I got at speeds. I've got the expected 6mpg, sometimes 8mpg etc at high speeds but.... when I'm at exactly 141-143 I get some incredible numbers!! It hits above 80mpg everytime! I've tested this the last few days and it's very repeatable(traffic allowing) as soon as I hit 141 or so, I reset the mpg and it jumps way up and it stays there. If I drive at this speed for a few min it will stay there and goes toward the average mpg. Today I tried resetting before getting on the autobahn and when I got up to speed, I stayed at the 141ish speed and, without resetting, the average started increasing very fast reaching over 30mpg. When I got to work I still had 19mpg for an average. This is from my normal running average of 10.7. As I say, if it was just for a second or two I could understand, but this is for all the time Im at this speed. Any ideas?

Interesting, amusing, and completely impractical. Thanks for the description, it is fascinating.

Knowing this new piece of information, all Canadians should be applying to get a refund of there new $4,000 gas guzzler surcharge. What other vehicle does better than 80 mpg...

80 MPG with a car like that would be great.... ....until you wake up from your dream... :)

I am curious to know what causes this glitch. Very odd. I wonder why the SRT Team hasn't come across this problem yet? ;)
