: More Electric Gremlins & The Infamous CEL
OurZoo 04-07-2007, 05:32 PM Today I come out of the grocery store to start her for the third time today and she stalls. Start her again and she stalls. The display read both times something about service park assist system, then something about temperature overheating and died. The GC is it's normal ambient temp so I figure there is nothing really wrong and this is probably just an electronic hiccup. I try to remember a previous post from a little while back about popping a fuse to reset the computer. I thought it was #17, pulled it out, popped it in, and she started right up but the CEL came on and is still on. Funny thing is it is a fuse to nothing after all. Just a fluke I suppose??? Anyway, can someone please post how to self reset the CEL? I remember someone posting this but I'm lazy. Also, anyone had this happen yet? I don't think I've read anything about these particular messages and stalling.

I usuall disconnect the battery and step on the brake to empty all of the capacitive energy in the electronics. Reconnect the battery and the light should be out.
OurZoo 04-08-2007, 12:29 PM Done! Thanks Dave. Head up to Woodland Hills next Sunday with the new 300SRT8. I'll be up there for sure.

As of right now, I am not planning on being there...a lot has to do with what I get done this week, and how much progreass I can make on my own tax returns.
If I can get out for a bit on Sunday, I promise to do so and I'll bring the animal.
What's interesting is that I have been really nice so far, no hard blasts or anything to break in nicely. Mileage is hovering around 13.5-13.8. I dont think that's too bad.
Have you been getting any sleep?
OurZoo 04-08-2007, 11:20 PM You have PM!

Any updates on what went wrong?
OurZoo 04-11-2007, 11:33 PM After I reset the CEL, I've never had it come back again or had any freakout with the gauges. I did go through the various harnesses on the driver's side of the engine and make sure they were snug. Could have been a coincidence, but one of the harnesses on the CPU clicked when I squeezed it together (directly in front of the passenger under the hood). Keep your fingers crossed for me that it was that simple.

Next CEL you get, please get the code it threw. Ill help you from there.

Any further update? I've had a very similar problem twice in the past week along with a harsh shifting transmission that never gets above 27 mph, and won't shift out of 2nd gear. Both times, resolved by letting it sit with the ignition turned off for 20 minutes, and then restarting (immediate restarts did not work). Still have the CEL, and my newly installed Dashhawk gives the code P0700. Looks like time to look at connections to the PCM and grounding wires. Other suggestions anyone?
OurZoo 05-08-2007, 08:37 AM I don't know what code that is, but take a minute and reset the harnesses under the hood in front of the passenger as well as the driver. I found one on the passenger side that did click. I have never had anything happen since then (knocks on wood).
Sheri'SRT8 05-09-2007, 10:05 AM It sure sounds like those '07's are troublesome...
OurZoo 08-19-2007, 09:32 PM Pulled 11 and I still have a CEL?
OurZoo 08-20-2007, 01:01 PM A little over 4 months later and the same exact thing happened. I tried starting it twice and it died. I waited about two minutes and she fired up with no problems or error messages on the EVIC, just the CEL and 6 codes according to the dashawk. This is exactly how the dashawk displayed them:
1 U110 Unknown
2 U0141 Lost Communication With BCM Module A
3 U3???
4 B00?1
5 P0000 Unknown
6 P0000 Unknown
Tried resetting and clearing the codes with the dashawk with no luck. I'm gonna either pull fuse 11 or disconnect the negative to the battery.
HoustonSRT-8 08-20-2007, 03:03 PM Sounds like there is a loose plug somewhere.
