Anyone with slotted or cross drilled rotor PLEASE post up some pics of your ride, showing your rotors. I really want to see what they look like on our rigs. I know you can get sooooo many different options just want to see what they look like!!

Mine are being installed now...over the next few days :D

I have seen them on the Jeep before.... Drilled / slotted looks more aggressive.... I personally ordered slotted only. I figured it would be safer, since I heard from my installer that he has seen a rotor crack right along a drill slot...I dont want that to happen to me.

Do you guys really think these are the best brand rotor upgrades in the market? Does anyone know if Brembo makes an upgraded set for our truck? What are the pros and cons?

I just put on my R1's with Hawks and Posi quiets.

From A DD perspective

Pros: Lower break dust.
Mine are NOISE FREE, but I never had issues with the stock ones until 45,000.
Appearance. These look great on the Jeep. A friend of mine picked up on them being installed immediately.

Neg: This setup will not stop you like the stock one, but there is not too much of a sacrifice.
Brake feel is not as good as stock.

If your stockers are not giving you problems, enjoy them as long as you can. They are a nice setup.

Sure they do. They are a complete kit. If my memory serves me correctly, they are almost 4 grand. I got my rotors online. Paid about 400 or just under. Lifetime warranty etc. I love em.

I agree with the lower dust. These things are so much better than stock as far as dust goes. I can't believe I have driven a week with little to no dust. With the stock rotors, the rims looked bad after 2 days.

Yes I did a write up in the past... and I pm`d Wade on how to do it... I think he also did a write up.
The paint is Duplicolor metalcast, I used a duplicolor ground coat aswell... It will make the colors pop a little better

No...
I used steel wool to make the surface abrasive, and cleaned with brake cleaner... then ground coat, about 3 coats of color, applied brembo decals off ebay, clear coat to protect

When I had a TBSS I apinted the calipers with duplicolor. Followed all the instructions to a T. A year later each one of them were peeling and it was a mess. I had to sand them down and paint them back to silver. Lucky for me I traded the thing for a SRT8. I will never paint calipers again. Also, you loose the awesome fininsh of the stock rotors by doing this unless you have them powder coated.

Thats odd... Im wondering if you applied it correctly. DCspecial here on these forums has had them painted for a long time w/ no issues. And he didnt even use a clear coat. Just the Duplicolor paint w/ decals.

I have had mine for 6 months and about 10K miles... NO issues.

Did you use a clear coat over your calipers to maintain the "awesome stock" finish? I know for a fact that Duplicolor instructions do NOT call for clear coat... Maybe you should have used about 4-5 layers of clear coat to protect all your hard work ;)... I did, so far so good!

**edit** FYI powder coating all calipers will cost about $800! I paid about $30 for supplies... and NO issues! I would gladly do it again ;)

Same here I followed your steps and in fact they look better than the flat black stock ones IMO

Here's a question. When you guys ordered your Brembo stickers, what size did you get. I see that some sites have different size stickers.

yes, I followed the instructions. I spent a ton of time on mine. It just didn't work out for me. No, I did not use clear coat but that would not help the longevity anyways. The stuff should have held up. I must not have done it right if others have had no problems.

Why wouldn't clear coat help?
I used clear engine enamel, capable of handling 900*. This prevents salt, and other crap from corroding the paint.

I do have 3 issues w/ mine... Just so everybody doesnt think everything went 100% problem free...
1. I was getting new tires and the mechanic scraped my caliper... So I will re-do that one
2. Im not the best painter, and was trying to do all of the calipers in one night, so one of them didn't get enough red paint... because of improper lighting...it isn't AS dark of a red color as the other calipers.
3. 1 of the calipers... (actaully the same one from #2) I rushed on the clear coat... like an idiot... and it peeled off on one part. So I will re-do this caliper also.

But there arent any signs of the paint failing/wearing. The only issues I have are caused by me, and an a**hole mechanic
