Thanks for the tip, I'll have my son (the Mopar Parts Guy) check with the local Distributor here in the Motor City, to see the "real" price. A set of four 9 inchers would be just the ticket for snows, now if only somebody had good snows (sorry, I mean "Winter Tires") in this size. I really loved the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2's that I had on my SRT4, quiet and almost as good as the OE Summer tires.

The price is for a refinished wheel. Does that mean that you have to provide the wheel? Or they are selling you a refinished wheel for $296? That is a pretty good deal, the dealership is $1300 for a new wheel.

I just called Transwheel to get a spare SRT8 wheel and asked them about these "refinished" wheels. They are OEM wheels that are used (taken from a wreck) and in good/great shape or they were damaged and repaired/refinished. But they have neither size in stock and they don't have any ETA.

I just want one for a spare tire so if anyone finds out they have them available please post here.

The price doesn't really make sense. The wheels are supposedly in good enough shape from a wreck to be salvaged then refinished then sold for a profit? No way in hell. Do they think they can buy these wheels with curb rash for say $100, then spend $100 or so to refinish, then sell for $296 for a profit?
I might place a standing order to just keep buying them if that is the case. Eventually you'll have a complete set for less than one new wheel from the dealer.
Too good to be true that is why there are none available, and at that price probably never will be.

I was thinking the same. I just dont know where to mount a spare. Where would you mount the spare?

pretty much the only practical place is in the trunk. I wasn't planning on driving around with it all the time, just having it as a backup.

Why would you want to carry around another 30-40 pounds in your trunk? The whole point in Run-Flats is there's no need for a spare. Having one as a backup is a desent idea, but you gotta remember you can't mount a front wheel in the rear and visa versa. Isn't that odd? Most AWD cars keep the same size all around...

I swapped out the runflats for some softer and taller and wider tires, so now if I get a flat I'm f*****.

Did you notice better ride quality with the Toyo tires compared to the run flats?

Yes, the ride is considerably smoother. Not only is the sidewall about 1.3" taller, but it has a normal thickness as opposed to the original runflats which have a very thick and stiff sidewall designed to support the entire weight of the truck. I didn't have a chance the weigh them but it felt like the runflats were heavier too.

Where I live a lot of the roads are in poor condition, so for me getting a smoother ride was worth the slight acceleration decrease that comes with taller tires. Although now that the engine computer has learned how to deal with not having a muffler I think the acceleration is back to normal. :D

I went through this with my Jag. These places advertise that they have the wheels, let you order it, and then let you know they don't have it. Very frustrating.
