: New paintball season begins!!! *pics*
Mango 04-06-2007, 10:17 AM I've played professional paintball for many years, had to stop due to my need for a career (no real money in pro paintball), been playing for 16 years total.
Picked up a new weapon of mass destruction today, and every year I'm amazed at how technologically advanced these markers become.
The milling and machine work in these markers is astonishing. Take a peek at this:
This is what $1300. of machining and milling on a 5axis gets you! Made in the UK btw.

Incredible.

The view down the barrel, this is how we typically aim in paintball. I can't believe how much they can machine off of these things. It weighs a little over 1.5 lbs. My compressed air tank weighs more than this entire marker (we don't call them guns).

Any other ballers in here?
I used to paint ball in my backyard, had a bushmaster, but when all our guns got stolen(we had like 10 walmart ones for friends) and me and my dad both had the bushmasters. it was a sad sad day. havent played since :*(
OldSchool 04-06-2007, 12:25 PM Still no money in pro-paintball?
I retired about ten years ago. What teams were you on?
Mango 04-06-2007, 03:27 PM Started with AGD Lions, then Spores, then Arsenal, then Joy Division until last year. Guested on numerous teams, man it was a blast.
I love it with my heart and soul, and I still compete in all local leagues here in NJ/PA/NY region. I play CCPL and GPL now, hopefully can make it to the Carolinas to play in the CFOA this season.

OldSchool 04-09-2007, 12:50 PM I'm literally an "Old School" player, in 5 and 10 man.
NPPL teams:
Tour de Force
Constant Pursuit
Ironmen
Mango 04-09-2007, 02:43 PM Ironmen? Nice! :) Do you play anymore? I love playing "casually" now, where our teams next tournament does not hinge on the fact that we win. MUCH more enjoyable and I can actually let loose and have fun now.
maxxjeep 04-09-2007, 02:45 PM I've got a Spryder TL-R
..yeah i know wussy compared to that monster! But it gets the job done in a recreational sense.

Did you play with Marty Bush? Played with him a lot at our local field. Nice guy.
yaccster 04-26-2007, 03:52 PM One of the reasons for getting the Jeep instead of a 300 or Charger would be the extra room in the back for hauling PB gear and the interior being more accepting of the treatment it will get Playing for 8 years all rec, mostly scenario stuff for the past 6 years. It's amazing how cheap these markers have gotten too, remember shelling out somewhere like $2.5K for an angel LCD, air and a VL back in 2001 and that thing was a BRICK in comparison. Now it's mostly tippmans for me , gotta have the all day/2 day reliability. You speedballers can go ahead and snicker now. :)
Derwood98 04-26-2007, 05:32 PM Never played pro and I have not played in a few years, but I have been playing for about 7 years now. Marker of choice is the Palmers Paladin's Pride blazer.
Mango 04-26-2007, 05:47 PM Cool! Lots of ballers in here.
I'll be in Tampa May 11th to 13th for the NPPL Seven Man. Maybe meet up with some FL SRT folk.

Yep, Marty was hands down one of the best players in the game, using a pump gun vs. the semi's throughout his career. Great guy and very down to earth.
