: Seriously! WTF!!!
Tyler 12-28-2009, 04:56 PM Can someone please explain why in the hell Jeep said it was ok for a 10mm Hex on the TC, but they had to design a freakin, IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, 14mm HEX for the front diff.
I have been to Sears, NAPA, Harbour Freight, Lowes, Home Depot, Advance Auto, and Auto Zone all with no freaking luck on finding this hex socket to drain the front diff.
The only one I found was in a 89 dollar set for 1/2" drive and the freakin piece was like 3" long so I knew it wouldn't work.
Oh well. I guess everything else will get changed and the front diff. will wait a few days.
:confused::rolleyes:
Vinnysrt8 12-28-2009, 05:05 PM I got mine from sears
blown454nova 12-28-2009, 05:06 PM im sure you could find one at builderdepo.com but you would have to wait for it.
everything at work is metric, tools, measurements, volumes, weights... so much easier than standard, i pray for the day the US goes metric.

blown454nova 12-28-2009, 07:34 PM my last ship we had a full setup of snap-on tools, my guess would be atleast 25 grand worth of tools, all sockets, combination wrenches, box, spanner, screwdrivers, racherts and extentions. about 5 or 6 of each size up to 55MM. my guess would be atleast 30grand worth of tools. kept breaking them, threw them all over the side in the middle of the atlantic after we picked up a new lineup of bacho tools.
NOTHING i have ever used compares to bacho.
hardhat 12-28-2009, 07:37 PM just buy the 1/2" one and hack saw it off a bit and itll fit.
Tyler 12-28-2009, 09:23 PM Doesn't help with the oil/tc/diff. fluid change I did today.
Either way, it does help for future changes and I have ordered one. Thanks for the link!

Damn! hell of a nice price, I have a HFT store 10 minutes away, I'll get that kit too.
BTW I bought mine already, bit early but I was there anyway.
Blown-WK 12-29-2009, 10:57 AM You wont belive this but a socket tool works perfectly. I'm talking about the end of the tool that you actually slide sockets on.

I thought that just worked on the rear dif.
Tyler 12-29-2009, 06:55 PM Yeah, according to WK, you have to use a 14mm on the front. The rear diff is where you can use the ratchet end.
6.1_Toboggan 12-29-2009, 07:26 PM I'm happy someone posted this, I had the same damn problem but figured I just lacked the tools so I kept my mouth shut, but thanks for posting the link, this really bothered me.
the1stkim 01-23-2010, 10:01 PM Go to HarborFreight.com or your local store. Pick up a set for 15 bucks. This will allow you to do the front and the transfer case. For the rear use a freakin 3/4 ratchet. Too easy. To make complicated purchase the most expensive tool you can, as it will be necessary considering the massive amounts of torque that will be applied. Also consider ordering online and waiting for it to arrive. Just kidding! Try harbor freight or Northern Tool or a similar tool store. They will always have them or any other tool you need. Save your $$, your time etc etc
Bought mine at princess auto which is harbour freight in the states.
