I know I said I didn't plan to mod, but have been considering the Mopar CAI and catback system. You guys corrupt the hell out of us bone stock guys. :D
The dealer has them for $307 and $1148 respectively. I have no idea how much labor would be, but I do know neither will void the warranty as I've already asked. I see the catback claims 50 state emission compliance, so I assume Colorado inspectors won't get their panties in a wad. Anyone know for sure?
From reading this site I know there are better performing components out there, maybe even cheaper. But one, I don't want much if any louder exhaust. Don't care about the intake, but many claim the Mopar sounds killer. Two, I don't want any warranty or service issues. From what I understand, the computer will auto adjust to the new components over some period of time. So I won't need a tune right away, if ever.
I guess my main curiosities are what kind of increase in performance can I expect with just these two changes? And how much louder the catback is? If it's just 5hp or something like that it's not really worth it. If it's like 20+hp it's more justifiable. Anyone dyno'd the difference between stock and these two components? If it's already been posted, my apologies, but I did search and read a boatload of posts to find the answer.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated, but I'm not into super loud, tunes at this time, or superchargers. It's just my DD / toy that might get some Xmas presents. ;)
Thanks!
