Well it sounds like from the tune I am hearing from all of you on here with these numbers, and actually with a bit more tuning and a bigger filter should be more like 561 rwhp, so the question is, after spending $9400 on all the tuning, belt tensioner, 850cc/min custom injectors, wideband to monitor, boost guage, and the kit with the install, is it really time to pull the trigger and drain my wallet another $6500 and get the tranny, flex plate, etc. done (swap out edge tc with billet while I'm at it)

I will more than likely beat this one till it's dead for a month or more, but well, it sounds like even people with less mods than me and less power were toasting their tranny's pretty quickly.

I just hope to God that my top land rings don't go soon, cause I am running 7.5 to 8 psi.

I guess if that happens it's hello 444 blown stroker. and bye to another $13K, but I hope not, would be sick though!

So votes, new Tranny now, or let it die first, how long do I have that is the question.

How often do you apply the big power?
If you take it easy it will last a while.;)
I have seen a tranny roasted in one day of heavy racing with similar power to yours.

You could get a bullet proof tranny that will handle all of that power and more for 3650, and that's all you'll need, certainly for now.

Can't say on when the stock pistons will go, or if they will go. Some have had good success. Keep it well fueled and good air cooling probably a help.

The thing about the tranny is that usually you will have time to change it before it fails completely. You heard my 2-3 shift with heads and cam, that didn't mean I couldn't drive, it just was lazy for awhile. The tranny is also independent so its not a big deal to change it anytime. My advise it stick with the valvebody for now and that would come off the cost of the tranny if you use the same company.

This is what I was thinking...mine started to go but got worse everyday eventually leaving me stranded. Would say once that 2-3 shift takes a longer time then order it and take it VERY easy on the tranny until the new 1 is installed. Then you get to beat on it...right away!

broken trans could result in a over rev and blown 10k motor. id fix it now.

Roll the dice if you don't have the cash. If you have the money, get the transmission now and save yourself some possible grief.

Alright, I am a preventative guy, if biz goes well this next month and this month once I recover from all the Xmas gifts I bought, I'll just spring for the whole set up, flex plate and all. I mean it's like when I do it, might as well just have it all together and bolt it up.

Any words of wisdom on the Transfer Case, Grip and others just told me that would not need to be done for a long long time, even BB said that.

I would wait on transfercase, that is the easiest thing to change and they are pretty stout.

Just change the fluid and pull the transfer case motor when on the dyno.

Thats a good choice. The longer you keep it you will notice it start slipping more and more if you run it at the track. Then you might as well kiss that 550hp goodbye because you won't be able to use it. Might as well put a block of wood under your gas pedal unless you want the tranny to leave you stranded somewhere.
