Grip Grip 12-20-2009, 02:23 PM Congrats and nice run!
Blown-WK 12-20-2009, 02:35 PM Damn Luis, thats awesome. Sarge better watch out. You are less than .1 away from having the fastest 426 out there.
jim383 12-20-2009, 02:49 PM Great run luis. It looks like you got a runner there so keep up the great work. Do you no what the DA was? All you need to do it get that mph up there. I wished we would get your guys DA out here. When we do get low temps like 50 degrees we also have dam hi humidity thats up in the 55% to 85% range. Sarges problem is he cant hook up but still cuts 1.60/1.63 60'. Keep us posted on all your runs .
BOYCHIKS 12-20-2009, 02:54 PM Good lord Luis!! Your at it again.
Congrats!! So any more track dates this season? Or will that be the final pb... hehe
af_maineiac 12-20-2009, 03:04 PM Damn Luis! Your times keep going down... and down... and down! Great run!

That mph is baffleing me, how heavy are you and your Jeep, that seems extremely slow for that awesome time!!
hawkman996 12-20-2009, 04:45 PM Damn Big Lu!!! That is fast, nice 60' time too. Your rig was fast when it was stock and it's a burner w/that 426. Nice.
Congrats bud, you deserve it because I know you waited a long time for that motor.
Vinnysrt8 12-20-2009, 04:53 PM wow thats flying
Blown-WK 12-20-2009, 05:18 PM You sure that mph is right Luis? I went 110 with only a 12.5 on motor. What was your 1/8? You must be flying through the first 1/8 and then level out.
Harrison@Stage6 12-20-2009, 05:30 PM My guess is he ran a 122 and just had happy fingers typing too fast!
YoungMedic23 12-20-2009, 05:34 PM Same as my best times! 11.57 and 1.59
Curious to see ur 1/8th time and trap
SICK!!!
Chris Hull@TTC 12-20-2009, 05:37 PM My guess is he ran a 122 and just had happy fingers typing too fast!
No way 122 mph at my weight translates to just under 700 crank horsepower!!
lchevere 12-20-2009, 07:04 PM Congrats and nice run!
Thanks!
Damn Luis, thats awesome. Sarge better watch out. You are less than .1 away from having the fastest 426 out there.

Grip Grip 12-20-2009, 07:10 PM An 11.5 at 112 tells me you have an excellent combination of torque converter stall, cam, and tires.

Awesome time, congrats

Absolutely correct. We (PPP) could have put a bigger cam in there and increased the top-end, but with this being a daily driver, the idea was fast at the track and fun on the street. The Jeeps need tq more than it needs hp and it needs the power down low as much as possible. His dyno numbers will not blow you away, but he is making a ton of hp/tq down low and in the mid-range which translates into a fast Jeep and even more fun on the street.
With a bigger cam and a bigger converter, Luis could maintain that 60ft and increase the mph up top.
Way to go Luis, glad you are enjoying the Jeep. Are you the only one in the 1.5x 60fts all motor? That PI converter is definitely doing its job. How is the driveability with it?
Luis, you should log KR also to make sure you dont have some knock retard going on. You should probably be about 2mph higher in the 1/4 mile unless Johan has the timing set real low, I will ask him tomorrow.
lchevere 12-20-2009, 07:30 PM Awesome time, congrats
Andy thanks again for doing my setup!!!!!!!!!

Yes Andy I am having lots of fun with the beast. I drive every day and like today I drove 2.5 hrs with no problems.

Yeah Johan said to do some data logging while back but I been slacking. Data logging is on my list.

You definitely had some KR.
Old best: 93.01mph 1/8 and 114.45mph 1/4 (21.44mph gain)
New Best: 93.39mph 1/8 and 112.21mph 1/4 (18.82mph gain)
As you can see, your not gaining on the top end like you were before. If you ran at a lower elevation, you were probably running a little lean which will hurt power and cause a little KR. Get you a wideband and always make sure you are racing with an air/fuel of about 11.9-12.2 and you will be set. That 11.57 might have been an 11.4x at full power ;)

I did change my spark plugs from Platinum PLZTR5A13 and replaced them with NGK Iridium LZTR6AIX-13. So yes I need to datalog...
hawkman996 12-20-2009, 09:06 PM Nice launch, just a hint of spin and your gone.

Good explanation of getting desired drive characteristics and what power comes in where for keeping a daily driver easy to drive.
Blown-WK 12-21-2009, 11:38 AM Sick video Luis. That thing is a monster out of the hole.
