Question for some of you guys that installed stereos or anyone else who would know. I need to store the draw bars for my trailer hitch and I wanted to know about a couple of spots:

1) the flip up storage area in the center of the floor in the hatch. If I take the cover off - how does the black plastic panel underneath come off and is there any further room under there without the black plastic piece.

2) where would the jack and tools be in a regular grand cherokee? I am wondering if the grey plastic side panels can be removed as this may be another place for me to mount them.

3) the two flip up storage areas at the back of the hatch against the rear seats. does anyone know how to take out the plastic panels inside there so again I have more space and also would have the whole length instead of it being split in two under each "door".

Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The floor is 1 piece plastic...I would take the whole floor out and build another. There is plenty room if you do that.

The load floor is easily removed, just a couple of bolts. There are some pics at this link, bottom of page:

The jack would be stored in the smaller bins in front of the rearmost load floor. I think the jack fit in the righthand bin, but not completely sure.

makes sense when look inside there are velcro straps made to hold something in there and there is also an extra cutout inside one of the bins again like it was meant to hold something. Right now, I keep my inverter in the one side.

Now that I see you need to unscrew the side panels to take them off, I will be looking under the load floor as my option. Sure I can McGiver something up.
