: Pocono Track DAY ONE! PICS!!****
Mango 04-03-2007, 06:13 PM Well, today was a total BLAST!!! I am still grinning ear to ear, it truly was an amazing day.
Barho, DaveSRT8 and myself were in full effect and tearing up the various modules. Barho posted a WICKED fast time on the Autocross (btw his new nickname is "Baby Cone Killer!") hahaha and I made it to the finals in the Full Throttle Drag competition. I was pitted head to head with our Instructor Hammer, and ended up winning a free voucher guest pass for another SRT Track Experience day!
Dave and I tore it up in the "Performance Drive" course!! I am blown away by the never ending mid-range torque of the Crossfire SRT6, and the Charger is amazingly nimble and handles like it's on rails!
Here are some pics from my day:

To everyone I met today, it was a pleasure and an honor to share the track wth such an outstanding group of people!!
I loved it so much, I signed up tonight and paid to come back to Englishtown.
Mango 04-03-2007, 06:16 PM The 3 very beat up Vipers you use for the modules. Incredibly, they pretty much function perfectly.

Mango 04-03-2007, 06:18 PM Our Instructors:
Boston Bobby on the left, John HAMMER in the middle (he RULES!), and "Buttercup" on the right. Apparently he got a box truck stuck in the mud or something.... haha

jlandbl 04-03-2007, 06:47 PM Great pics. Brings back great memories from when I went in Nov. That's awesome that you won a free voucher. So why did you have to pay to go again at Englishtown?
Mango 04-03-2007, 06:53 PM The voucher is only good for a GUEST of mine. So I have to pay, and someone can come for free with me and drive. =/
Still, somebody gets a free ride. Anyone want to come with? hehe

Ah, still a great deal. My buddy paid the 500 bucks to come with me last Nov. It was worth every penny. Dad doesn't want to go again?
maxxjeep 04-03-2007, 06:57 PM That looks awesome! I wish there was going to be one a bit closer to me (Kansas)
barho 04-03-2007, 07:27 PM Mango - great stuff today!!!
Definately a must for all owners out there, that's for sure. I can't wait to get the DVD of me driving in the performance drive module. For all that don't know, during that module, you put a USB into ever car yo get in and it records you all the way. In 3-4 weeks everyone gets a DVD in the mail with all of your driving via a driver view, rear view and driver expression view so to speak, all displayed on the same screen along with your real time speed and Tach readings. The Jeep RULED the Full Throttle module. Nothing could touch it! Jeeps were completely stock and the 300's, Chargers and Magnums all had CAIs and Mopar/Corsa Exhausts for that module. Still, not a chance.
And the weather today.......UNREAL! Upper 60's and sunny. I even got a sunburn LOL!
Hope the weather breaks for tomorrow and Thursday for those that are going.
And BTW, I was "Baby Cone Killer" in the Jeep only! All three runs in the Crossfire were squeaky clean and fast.....can't say the same for you John ;) :p
Mango 04-03-2007, 07:49 PM HAHAH!!
Funny that you destroyed those cones in the JEEP! haha
Yeah, in the Crossfire you totally ruled that course man. EXCELLENT driving. :)
Me on the other hand, not so skilled. Still ran pretty good but managed to clip cones in the Crossfire and the Jeep.
I'm still sitting here in amazement at today. Not only did I learn that SRT's are friggen incredible vehicles...but I learned new driving skills.
Those vehicles at the Full Throttle Drag were totally spent though. Being run over and over, they were totally heat soaked. However, the Jeep was king of that module, hands down.
Green Light 04-04-2007, 05:31 AM Hello Guys, it was a great day indeed. I'd gladly pay to go again. Englishtown a good possibility. The autocross was indeed great fun, until I got into the Grand Cherokee and went the wrong way at the start. Couldn't figure out those cones. Mango's right the GC took all comers in the drag race, just floor it on the yellow light. Dont' wait for the green or you've lost the race. And the Charger was the best all around SRT auto. I had great fun and would do it again today if I could. I got some pics that I'll put up soon.
Mango Thanks for the info on your HID lights. Pleasure to speak to you and your pops.
Mango 04-04-2007, 05:37 AM Hey GreenLight!!
It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. That Autocross was nutty!! Such a tight course, but I was shocked how well the Jeep handeled it. Dodging tiny 5 inch cones in that thing is crazy LOL!
Oh, I forgot to note that Barho ALSO tagged a bird on the drive in HAHA! The lower grill was pretty much a cheese grater to that poor birdy. Nothing but feathers left.
Green Light 04-04-2007, 06:19 AM Thanks Mango pleasure was all ours. I should have stood up and asked who here is on the boards. Here are my pics of the days events. I'm envying those guys who are there today.
Green Light 04-04-2007, 06:21 AM Some more pics of the day.
jlandbl 04-04-2007, 06:21 AM Man, you guys are giving me the itch to go again. Guess it's time to cash in my change jug.
Green Light 04-04-2007, 06:28 AM Man it was great. And the Richard Petty crew couldn't have done a better job. A+ for those guys. Hell when the come out with the 6.4L I have to go again!
Eh2BRUTEh 04-04-2007, 06:42 AM im so jelous... buying in canada we dont get the SRT track experience.. what a rip
There have to be enough Canadians with SRT's in the Windsor, Toronto, Montreal corridor to make it worthwhile to hold SRT days at the Mosport track.
barho 04-04-2007, 09:01 AM MAN!!!! Seeing the rain just pour down outside, I can only imagine how miserable it is up there today. It's 34 and raining up there right now. EEEWWWWWWW
Green Light 04-04-2007, 10:04 AM Your right Barho, impossible to do that auto cross today. And overall speed is going to be down too. There maybe a lot of "in the mud" mishaps today.
Mango 04-04-2007, 10:18 AM Thanks for the pics Green Light! If anyone else has pics please post them up so we can save them!
DavesSRT8 04-04-2007, 01:14 PM Mango:
Thanks for the pics !!. Great to meet you and your Dad - your Dad and I talked quite a bit throughout the day - he really knows his stuff ! My son and I had a great time (he did all the driving, and even though he had better R/T in the finals with you for drag race, you had the 'cold' fresh charger and beat him !). He also won a Richard Petty 3 laps voucher for winning the auto cross in our group (gotta love being 19 years old w/good reactions !) Both of us were amazed just how much punishment these things can take. Great meeting everyone and seeing all the cars and trucks in action !
Some other highlights
1) the MyGig touch screen display (functional). So much better than current Nav system, uSB port, etc. Amazing stuff - I want it.
2) if you buy another SRT in next 90 days, you get TWO track experiences for price of one.
3) the amount of SRT gear you can't get anywhere else was amazing. Jackets, fleece, polos, tshirts, hats and banners. very nice stuff and folks were buying it up like crazy
Couldn't believe how helpful and friendly all the SRT (aka Richard Petty staff) folks were - very well run and professional, extremely organized modules you go through (autocross, performance drive, viper drive, drag race, hot laps). Plus free DVD of yourself racing.
I would gladly sign up for this again, weather permitting (wonder how they will do all that stuff today ??).
Hopefully we'll be seeing everyone soon - come on down to Englishtown on weekends when we drag race the Jeep and maybe we can hook up

Green Light 04-04-2007, 08:44 PM Yea Dave, Great day. Wish I had the reflexes of your son. Would have helped at the drag strip.
The apperal was awesome. Now I can put on my SRT cap and soft shell then go looking for kills.
Hope to run into you again.
