: Ordered a 2006, getting a 2007!

I just got off of the phone with my saleperson and apparently the SRT8 I ordered in April did not make it to production for the 2006 model year so it will be one of the first 2007's to be ordered. The sales manager is even guaranteeing my price ($44,390) even if there are price increases with the '07.

I know I will have to wait a little longer (I have a car to sell anyways) but this sounds too good to be true to me. What do you guys think?

When are you expected to take delivery?

I'm hoping by the end of August or September, but who knows?

I have the same "problem". I ordered mine in March. My dealer called yesterday to say the order was cancelled and that they would honour {Canadian spelling} the price that I had for the '06 if I would have them order the '07 instead.

Today I was updated that their internal system is not updated with the 2007 information so they can't actually place the order yet -- they were hoping the system would be ready in the next few days.

Question: If they have actually ordered you a '07 already, what are the new options available? I read, on another site, that the '07 will have some new options like backup camera, remote start, soft touch dash, carbon fibre finish of the gauge hood. Can anyone confirm what new options/features are available for 2007. I want to make sure I don't leave anything out that I'll want.

Some dealers will start to get the '07 models in early August, it's hard to say when yours will arrive as it all depends on the dealers allocation. Oklahoma has only received 15 models for 2006 so far so not a ton of them going there.

If it was from WKJeeps.com that is the most accurate info that you will find anywhere. Official dealer order sheets should be released by Mid June, it's possible that there could be a couple of new options not listed below but unlikely. The Kicker system will probably be very late in the model year or delayed until 2008 from what I have heard.

2007 Grand Cherokee SRT8

Production starts July 2006
6.1L Hemi, WA580 AutoStick transmission (same drivetrain as 2006)
Active turn signals (activated with a light tap)
Audio - Next gen premium Kicker audio system w/subwoofer (late availability)
Cup holder, mold-in color front
Fuel tank size increased from 20.5 to 21.1
ParkView Rear camera system option, integrates with REC nav unit
Remote Start (included with SRT Option Package I)
Soft-touch upper instrument panel, Premium carbon fiber leather instrument panel hood
Tip Start (prevents double starts)
New color: Steel Blue Metallic Clear Coat
New color: Red Rock Crystal Pearl Coat (Replaces Inferno Red)

Your dealer will probably "hold" the order until his 2007 code guide is available. Keep in touch with them in the next couple of weeks and tell them to let you know as soon as the guide is released so that you can go over the options line-by-line. It's possible a couple of option packages may have slight changes.

My main incentive to wait for an 07 is that stereo, wonder how late they mean?

you will be fully disappointed. the kicker system is crap. If you want something that sounds good go aftermarket and get a jeep now for EP.

The 6.1 liter Hemi is the only option I care about.

No doubt, I had a black one locked up on saturday about 80 miles away, my local dealer was prepared to take their srt-8 and 4 additional units off their hands to make it happen, then suddenly as I'm in there filling out the buyers order I see some weird body language going on in the sales managers office.
They come out and tell me how sorry they are but it was just delivered and they take full responsibility for it, going on to say dont worry about todays EP deadline that they would back date the contract and honor it.
So I told them if thats the case the pressure is off and call me when they have a black one with nav and pkg #1.
No call from them yet.

dont take it the wrong way, but all that means is that they sold it to someone else for more. My dealer tried to that sh!t with me when I bought mine but I caught them and put it in their face and walked away with a deal.:D

Here's today's developments, they found me another one, same spec as the first one, 14 miles on it in a showroom, obviously further away.
They want me to absorb a grand in shipping costs if I want it here with 14 miles on it, I agreed if they could have it here by tomorrow afternoon, they agreed so I take delivery tomorrow.
Hope it all goes smooth and the unit is flawless.

Anyone know what the 2007 GSRT8 will be going for?

I cant understand why so many people are having a hard time finding these jeeps. I have been in contact with a couple of dealers in the Tampa Bay area who have them in stock... (mostly only silver) and can get other models if they trade another dealer or buy it from them (this is all from my dealer who told me this). Im not sure but I may be able to give you guys a few dealers who do have them. Let me know... Ill be happy to help if I can.
