Okay heres the deal... I really want to install a HID kit but there is a slight problem. This dosent happen everytime and its very sporadic but it never goes a day without doing it. Are you ready? well heres my problem: Whenever I close a door, especially my trunk, my lights will go on from anywhere between 1-2seconds then shut off. Its really weird, they just come on and go off. Sometimes when I press the lock or unlock button on my key, the car will lock or unlock as commanded but at the same time the lights will come on for a second then turn off. Also, when I go to put my key in the ignition, as soon as my key touches the metal, the lights will go on and then off. It PISSES me off so much! I have my illuminated entry turned off, and when the lights come on, the chime meaning "key is in ignition" comes on for that split second regardless of whether or not my key is in the igniton. Also, all my dash lights (gauges, lights around nav, a/c controls, etc) go on for that second as well. Best way to describe it-- Just on, then off...like that--exactly what my lights do. I know that this would be murder on a HID kit and my dealer dosent know what's wrong. All I need to do is get this glitch fixed then I can install a HID kit. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! If you know anything please comment, I really want to get this fixed! Anybody else have this problem?

I noticed mine do pretty much the same thing you are describing. It hasn't really bothered me. Someone did post however that if installing an HID kit, the headlights should not remain on the "Auto" position, they must be off. Did you try that? Other than that, I have no idea.

i heard of wierd things happening when the harness behind the instrument clusters get loose, have your dealer check that. good luck!

Are you using a relay for each headlight ballast??

My '07 GC did weird things when I did my HID's......and the supplier of the HID kit swore it was the auto-illumination/delay/timer/blah, blah, blah.......tried everything.....until I did individual relays for each side and viola....no more problems.

Hope this helps you with your issues......:o

I just noticed this happen to me yesterday. I locked my truck and was walking away and the lights came on and off quickly.

Then after work I cam back to the truck, unlocked the doors and put something in the back seat, shut the rear drivers door and the lights came on and off again. What the....????

I have my HID kit installed with relays. Am now going to try not using the "A" position which I was using, but this limits some of the other lighting functions I used to enjoy.
