Well, it does say they have one for 2005-07, but man that would be a tight fit back there. You certainly couldn't do it with the Kicker sub though for 08's.

The head room is going to be questionable...

They look more user friendly than the late model BMW X5 third row. They are a joke.

It would work but man it would be tight...no way I'd put a car seat back there although the kids would love looking out the back window

Just an idea. I looks like it can be installed forward faceing. I would not put a car seat back there, i was thinking about maybe a booster seat, and maybe any friends that make me mad. LOL

Very Interesting, it says SRT8 and you can get the two tone color.

Short trips it prolly wouldn't be all that bad...that 2-tone looks like it matches perfectly too!

OMG! Someone please get these and confirm!! The misses says I cant have anymore then 3 kids because we cant fit them in her SRT8. (parents up front, 3 kids in rear). But with these I can EASILY get 2 more kids!! YES!!

Seriously, I'd love for someone to check this out. I am very interested in the mounting system. They need to be extremely secure and safe, got my children to worry about here, if it was just friends, I wouldn't care all that much :) lol.

How do they install? with just the plastic loops on the cargo floor?

lol. are you serious about the plastic loops? wow. no

They use 1/2 inch steal (THICK) for brackets that get drilled and bolted to the body. And these parts have been tested by GM and AAA. And they pass 5 different Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Tests:

Section 571.207 subsections S4.2(a) and (b). Tests the seat anchorage system and requires "20 times the weight of the seat applied in a forward (rearward) longitudinal direction."

Section 571.207 subsection S4.2(d). Tests the rear upper seat frame cross-member…in a rearward longitudinal direction for forward facing seats and a forward longitudinal direction for rearward-facing seats."

Section 571.209 subsection S4.3(c)(2). Tests the single anchorage point, "Other attachment hardware designed to receive the ends of two seat belt assemblies shall withstand a tensile force of at least 6,000 pounds… without fracture of any section when tested by procedure in S5.2(c)(2)."

Section 571.210 subsection S4.4.2. Tests seat belt assembly anchorage to insure their proper location for effective occupant restraint, "Except for side-facing seats, the anchorage for a Type 1 seat belt assembly or the pelvic portion of a Type 2 seat belt assembly shall withstand a 5,000 pound force when tested in accordance with S5.1."

Section 571.210 subsection S5.2. Tests Type 2 seat belt anchorage, specifies in part "…apply forces of 3,000 pounds in the direction in which the seat faces simultaneously to pelvic and upper torso body blocks…and maintain them for 10 seconds."

So anyways, I called them, and spoke to a very nice woman by the name of Trina, and she provided me with some good photos and links/reference material for reading:

http://www.littleseats.com/safety.htm (What I pasted above)

http://www.littleseats.com/testimonials.htm (Click on the accident testimonial, and see a totaled car with Seats still firmly attached)

http://www.littleseats.com/faq.htm (Frequently Asked Questions)

They do have a 1 seat (jump seat option) but not for our cars, apparently it doesnt fit well/accommodate passenger comfortably.

Deluxe is $952 + Ship ($90)
Standard with just lap belts is $704 + Ship ($90)
Standard with 2 shoulder belts is $704 + $150 (shoulder belts) + $90 Ship.

Takes 6-8 weeks to make, they do make them to order from the ground up, if you have child seats that can use center tethers (exactly what we have on the back factor seats right now), they can add those too.

Thats what I got for ya right now.

That rear trunk is so crammed i can't sit back there without a seat

I dont know why any adults would want to sit back there, but I think it might be perfect for children, so that adults could sit in the rear seats as needed. More then anything I am looking at it to open up 'options' There has definitely been a few times where we had 7 people (2 being kids) and we had to take 2 cars because of it. This would open up the options of us all still being able to travel in 1 car.

Has potential, just rather have someone else take the 'gamble' and report back how well it really works for 'fit and finish' in our cars. Will it work, probably, sure. How well it works and how functional it would really be in practical use, I don't know, thats why I am on the fence with it.

I would love to take one for the team BUT the drilling into the floor/metal deck of the truck kind of turns me off on this.

Can anyone confirm IF you have to choose to face forward or rear when installing and that once one is selected, one cannot simply switch the chair around to get the seat to face the other way?

How the heck will the kids get in if its forward facing? Guess you have to flip the back seats down.

Also, how hard is it to take this thing out? I still need my trunk!

You can switch back and forth if you like, so no your not stuck in 1 configuration once you decide on it. It takes about 20-30 minutes to swap them around, once the original install is done (installing the non movable base plates to the body/chassis is the long part).

Obviously face forward you have to drop on of the middle seats down to get access to the back seats.

Facing Rear you can access it through the 'trunk.'

My smarter 1/2 doesnt like the idea of our kids facing the rear glass in case someone rear ended us, and glass and other pieces flies into the car. She rather it have to hit the back of the seat instead of our kids. So that means I'd have to always lower the smaller half of the rear seat to let people in and out of the back, no access to seating through the trunk.

Then the other negative to this arrangement is that you give up a lot of easily accessible storage, for strollers, where as if the seats were rear facing, you could at least still throw the stroller 1/2 on the seats and 1/2 on the remaining area in the back.

I really want to say Yes to this, but its far from a 'perfect solution' and so paying a grand for something that might not work all that well sure doesn't sound fun.

Someone want to do this already, and do a nice write-up with lots of digitial photos along the way ?? :D

These plates that we are supposed to BOLT down into the truck, how far do they stick out? 1 - 2 inches?

This would mean that with the seat out, our trucks would no longer be level right?

Would have no use for my nice weathertech mat then :(

they are only 1/2 inch think (the steal plates), the posts stay attached to the seat, and so those come out. Shoot me your email addy, and I have a few photos I can send you, feel free to post them, I just didnt feel like setting up a hosting account somewhere. And yes, I have the same issue, my weathertechs have done me so nicely, I hate to abandon the rear one :) I guess you could 'modify' it (aka cut the section out where the 'F' brackets go) which I guess is what I would do, so that I could keep using it, especially for the kids/adults shoe tracks that would occur on those back sections.
