Amazing!

Someday I want a motorcycle. I'm kind of scared to ride one. http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/ohnoes.gif

Mango,

I learned to ride on a liter-bike a few years back, and let me tell you... back parking lot of a shopping plaza doing 30 mph felt like I was flying in a open-****pit crop-duster! LOL!

As long as you can drive stick and understand the general concept of how a clutch/manual transmission works, you shouldn't have a problem riding a motorcycle. Find someone with a bike who trusts you enough not to kill yourself or wreck thier bike and try learning on some closed roads. You'll never regret it.

If you already know how to ride.... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!?! LOL Go get one... make yourself very visible... take courses and you'll be fine. You will always have others who don't pay attention to you and pull out in front of you or completely disrespect you because they think one bad rider is a representation of all "crotch-rockets", but that is where the riding courses make the difference. They teach you how to "react" instead of "freak out."

ChampJeep - I wasn't really aware of any problems with the '06's, but just like with my '04 (model year after 2003 new body style) I'm sure they worked the bugs out! What was the problem exactly?

When they came out with the 06 they completely re-worked the bike. One of the biggest claim's to fame for the new r6 at the time was to be the 16,500 rpm redline.......until some riders got thier hands on them. A few stock bikes made hier way to the dyno, bikes were redlining somwhere between 15,000 and 15,500 ( i cant remember for sure ) even though the tach was reading the 16,500 they were promised. Yamaha's advertising exec's flat out lied to the public, then they figured they shopuld try to fool them by installing gauges that read falsely. There was a very large public apology, and a lot of respect for yamaha was lost!!

Nice R6 2MC.

that sounds like me. I don't have the bike yet, but the dealer gave me a VIN#.

I have my Kawasaki leather jacket
new Suomy SPEC1R matching hemet
joe rocket gloves
Micron Exhaust (slip on)
Fender Eliminator (paid, but waiting delivery)
Euro front turns (need to order these still)
Frame Sliders (need to order these at same time)

Thinking about Dampner. You are making me lean toward yes.

Also, hitch being built this weekend so I can buy a Versahaul motorcycle carrier for the back of the truck.

Now I just need some heavy rain to wash all the sand and salt off our roads.

Looks good, Last year I purchased an 06 749 Duc I loved the beast. I really want the 1098 but just had my first child and I am trying to hold back on killing myself. GOOD LUCK and keep the sticky side down.

The bike will probably never run at Milan. Ask me that again after I run at Milan. ;-)

Just received my Girlfriends Helmet and Jacket today... and my Scotts damper, which untill today I did not realize was made by Ohlins Racing (very good thing). My old Scotts damper said SCOTTS on the top and backside, the new one says SCOTTS on top and OHLINS on the backside.

Now I'm waiting on the gloves, back protector, flushmounts, integrator and backpack, those should be in on wednesday...

Nice bike!

I am seriously considering a Triumph Daytona 675. I am hoping the weather is good enough when I am home for R&R that I can take one for a test ride.
