I had my 09 at a dealer for the first time, I watched the tech take it out for a drive. Well, when I gave it to them I had a couple small boxes tucked nice and neat up against the rear seat in the cargo area ... when he returned and I lifted the hatch, the boxes and the contents were all sprawed out and sitting against the rear hatch - almost falling out.

think this guy was out playing like he was John Force?

I would be upset...then again not just anyone drives my Jeep without me knowing them or riding with them. Talk to the service manager

If they have to take it for a test drive i always go with them. 990 you need to get out to IRWINDALE SOME THUR NIGHT AND DO SOME RACING WITH US JEEPS.

I plan on doing just that... I talked to him today on another issue, for example, why they used 5w-40 vs. my requested 0w-40 Mobil 1 that was documented on the RO. I basically told the manager Mobil doesn't make 5w-40.. after looking into it, he called back verifying the tech used Pennzoil from the parts department - I guess they think we're stupid.

When I explained oil brands are a religious and cultural thing, the service manager offered to change it with Mobil 1.

I never thought those small boxes would reveal such contempt for our ongoing support and patronage.

Yea, I'd be pretty pissed. But in our jeeps, it hard to keep it slow

yea, I know.... I've been busy consolidating sites at work, we moved two weeks ago into our new building so things will be easing up some - it's been hell this year with product moves and layoffs.

I don't think my SRT runs as quick as it did before I took it to the dealer on Friday - they did something. I used to get consistant 4.3s, 4.7s 0-60... last check after the dealer visit was 5.0.

On the bright side, I should bring the 2002 Chevy Express LW 3500 Van I bought from our fleet depart for $3,600.. 10K miles, like brand new.. it has a 496 big block, 3.73 posi, 400TH, tow package, fully loaded - I can chirp the tires.

I ordered it new in 2002 and the company offered to sell it to me... the side benefits of outsourcing and moving operations. :)

perkins dodge in colorado springs looked at me like i had a **** growing out of my forehead when i asked for NV146 for the transfer case, even after i gave them the part number they said something on the lines of it did not matter much what fluid i used.

lesson learned, my jeep will never go to the dealer for things i can do myself.

You can't blame him for loving your SRT as much as anyone should;)

That's BS They did the same oil change to me using 5-40 , Then after complaining with the manager about that and also about a $40 charge on brake inspection that they stated it was done by removing the wheels which they never did because it had no hand marks on my extremely dusty wheels :D , they decide to refund me my full dollar amount . Suckers !!!!

Yea, I know it's hard to resist... but when I was young and working in a service station my dad taught me to respect other people's property. I have this thing about integrity...

I don't want to get the tech in trouble, however I've decided to go back and buy a Mopar oil filter in the parts dept and continue my discussion with the service manager. I'm going to ask him if his tech will allow me to take his car for a joy ride and see what he says.

At this point I wouldn't trust leaving my SRT there for service or reworking the oil change.
