Well, I am still waiting for progress on my projector retrofit, but in the meantime, decided to go ahead and buy a Philips HID retrofit kit and install it. Got it at XenonDepot which is in Toronto. About $415 US ($500 Cdn) plus taxes, but wanted to go with good quality.

Comes with all the wiring including the relays and is as plug and play as it gets. Leave your wire cutters and electrical tape in the garage. I was able to hook it up quickly before installing everything to see that it worked. You can't confuse any of the wiring harnesses because they all only plug into eachother one way. Once I knew it worked, I spent the longest time hiding every wire so there is no trace of it when you open the hood or look at the battery. The power wires to the battery I ran inside the main group of wires to the positive batter terminal and covered with the factory red terminal cover like all the others. I ran the wires under the battery box, so they can't be seen. The main power wire from the passenger side ballast to the battery I tucked under the fan shrowd and under the battery box to the positive terminal so it can't be seen.

The ballasts are the Philips XLD 145 slim ballast and I was able to mount them under the headlight covers and they fit like they were designed to go there. Anyone looking at this would think they were factory there. There were also squarish black ignitors on each side that I mounted with the supplied 2 sided tape. The one on the batter side I mounted inside the fender and it cannot be seen. The other side, I mounted it right to the bottom of the ballast using the 2 sided tape. Probably could have done this on the first side as well.

Love the colour and look and the fire and work without a flicker. Except my fogs and highs now look like hell. Here are pics and rest in next post.

Uhhhhhh that looks sweet!!! but wait a minute, what are those headlight covers??? Is that new for 07 or something? I have a 06 and mine does not have those covers!!!!! (the black things that you mounted your ballasts under)

They came with most of the 2006's and then they took them off the 2007's for cost cutting (I know, a joke) They are $10 from the dealer if you don't have them. Easy to order and finish off under the hood.

Looks great!!

Thats the exact kit that I first installed. One thing to note: with those bulbs you may have to tilt your headlights downward. Within 2 minutes of driving around with my Phillips kit, I was flashed 3 times by oncoming drivers. After throwing that kit out and installing the McColloch kit, with new bulbs, I no longer get flashes and I had to reangle my headlight pods. Just something to look out for. For reasons I don't understand, the McColloch bulbs and Philips bulbs throw different patterns.

Mango - you are exactly correct. First drive last night - 2 flashes. Angled them down and now is great. Just lined them up against a wall and from distance with help of a friend.

Sweet!! Thanks!! I was worried for a minute! I plan on doing the exact same thing as you did with the Ultinon kit from xenon depot. Ive had my eye on them but I always wanted to see what they looked like in a WK before I would spend that kind of $$$ just for headlights, but you cant put a price on quality. Thanks to you, now I know what they look like! It has the exact look I want and now my predicament of where to mount the ballasts for a clean OEM look is solved thanks to those silly little covers!!! Thanks a ton! I really appreciate it! P.S.--That intake looks really sharp!

Have had a 6000k Phillips kit for about a month. No flashes and really nice. Apparently no adjustments necessary. Go figure. HID kit was from XenonKing.

Glad could be of help, and a couple of other points. Firstly, I love the DUB intake. My favorite mod thus far simply because of the wow factor when you open the hood and also the WOT sound.

Second, I was able to hold both ballasts in with just the long wire ties that the kit came with. Had to double up the ties to reach around. If you look closely in the pics you will see them on the back side of each ballast. For the passenger side I also tied one across the front. Makes for easy removal and no unfactory holes.
