: Hidden EVIC screens
pjs1965 11-24-2009, 08:29 AM I found this over at the Challenger forum, anyone heard of this? Maybe RS knows!
Apparently if you hold down the Compass and Music note steering wheel buttons for 7 seconds, there's some additional EVIC screens.
Here's a few samples:
#6 - Current Speed/RPMs/Temp/Volts. Self explanatory.

WS6TA 11-24-2009, 05:33 PM My Charger has those screens. I do not believe they are available on the Jeep, if they were someone would have figured it out by now. (RS:D)
They seem to be in several cars (GTO had them too). I'd be surprised if the Jeep didn't have them as well . . .
lewylew11 11-24-2009, 08:15 PM Also with the challenger/charger you can run with digital speedo and record top speed. Wish it was available with Jeep. I can't find any of it though.
That's the first thing I tried in my Jeep and they are not there. As has been stated, the LX's have them.

suzieque 11-25-2009, 11:11 AM I'm not sure what an LX is, but the new generation of 300c have these screens too.

That is an LX platform car. 300C, Charger & Magnum. LY platform is Challenger.

Don't forget the Magnum---RIP :D
pjs1965 11-25-2009, 12:02 PM Has the question been asked to the SRT Engineers of any hidden easter egg's in the Jeep? Just curious.
robpp 11-25-2009, 12:24 PM for the rec nav ones: may work on 08s and up IDK
UCONNECT – Using with radio’s steering wheel buttons, Hold down the middle left button behind the steering wheel to place a call and then again to hang up.
UCONNECT – Switching a call to the handset for privacy, Press the Voice Recognition UConnect button on mirror and say Transfer Call.
NAV – Using with radio’s steering wheel buttons,
Holding down the middle Right button for about 2 seconds will enable the NAV screen.
When prompted to hit enter select the middle Left button.
Navigate through the menus with the up & down Left side buttons and select with the middle button.
Note : When the steering controls are enabled, you will see a small steering wheel icon at the bottom right hand corner next to the time.
EVIC - To display codes, Turn your key on and off three times without starting the vehicle and at the end of the third you should either get the code(s) or "DONE".
pjs1965 11-25-2009, 12:28 PM Rob, the radio steering buttons don't do any of these with the RER radio in place. I've not tried the on/off 3x one.
robpp 11-25-2009, 12:39 PM yeah these are old from the REC radio - 06 and 07s ......
ResumeSpeed 11-25-2009, 08:25 PM I found this over at the Challenger forum, anyone heard of this? Maybe RS knows!
No one that I know of has ever found any "easter eggs" in the WK...
That is an LX platform car. 300C, Charger & Magnum. LY platform is Challenger.
Challenger= "LC" :)
pjs1965 11-25-2009, 10:42 PM ^^ Thanks RS -- I keep doing that mental mistake on the Challenger.
pjs1965 12-02-2009, 04:44 PM SRT Engineers Chat session:
First off, thank you for a wonder product. I am looking forward to more great products from SRT (like a 2012 Jeep SRT8 - ahem)!
Questions:
1) Are there any hidden EVIC screens or 'easter eggs' on the Jeep SRT8?
--- Yup... Good Luck
Hmmm....interesting.....
gottspd 12-02-2009, 04:48 PM really??? hmmm... the plot thickens....
Lumpy92 12-02-2009, 05:30 PM I saw this as well on the LXforums...obviously something exists. It was easy to get on my charger...just hold down 2 buttons for 5 seconds and it appeared. Lots of useful information....

pjs1965 12-02-2009, 06:06 PM there was a second response to this (maybe 2 engineers?) and it was 'NO'. So not nice if they're pulling my chain.
Harrison@Stage6 12-02-2009, 06:27 PM Here's the question I asked and their response.....
