I know there are alot of threads out there about what oil to use but not one lately. I am making a new thread because people have been running whatever oil for a while now and I wanted to get input on +'s and-'s to that oil. I am currently running the Mobil1 0w40 and Lately I feel like I'm hearing the valvetrain more in the cab and it bothers me. I am thinking about changing to Mobil1 10w50 to see if it gets any quieter. Is anyone running that oil? Is it too thick to run in the winter (it only gets down to the teens here)?

Bout time you changed the oil in that thing...how many miles? 23K??? ;)
I told ya I'm running 15w50 and will year round. No noises at all and seems to be cleaner at changes

Ya I remember that but I am not sure if it would be better or worse on a stock motor...

On my 1st oil change i went to mobil 1 5W/30 and been there ever since.
15w-50 is what Mopar recommended for customers that heard valvetrain noise.

I have used both the Mobil 1 0-40 and the 15-50 and neither has quieted the valvetrain like Amsoil 5w-40. I don't care what people say, it is quieted and I won't be going back to Mobil 1. It seems to be "smoother" for lack of a better word as well. My 2 cents!
I will run a Mobil 1 or K&N filter same filter but Mobil 1 is cheaper since it doesn't have the nut on the bottom.
