I don't have an SRT8 because I am going to be moving across the country soon and it doesn't exactly get good mileage moving from AK to NH most likely :) I will pick one up when I get there though....just will have to be next years model. Cat 6 is probably within the last 5 years or so. Pretty much EVERYONE uses it (office, warehouse, medical, manufacturing, tech etc) exclusively now. It's gigaspeed (so is 5E but 6 has lower latency though I doubt whether its ever realized in the real world). Cat-6 also has a higher theoretical throughput and less chance for cross talk. For home or home office there isn't any reason to upgrade from cat-5e to cat-6 but if you're starting from scratch it makes sense to go cat-6.
