It's been awhile since we've done something like this, and with all the new members on board, it might help people to know a bit about who they are talking/writing to.

George, 27, Brooklyn NYC.

I'm currently working in the technical field (Linux, networking, Java dev).

I'm single on paper, but committed, and will probably make the leap within a couple of years.

My truck is stock, except the rear fogs are wired as additional stop/turn lights.

I'm not a big fan of spending thousands of dollars on bolt-ons, but will consider a turbo setup (twin turbo anyone?) when a reliable one comes out.

I love the outdoors, biking, snow sports, and swimming. A good book.

Oh, and I like animals.. all kinds.

Name: Gabriel
Age: 34
Location: San Francisco
Family: Single, no kids, have a girlfriend.
Occupation: Game producer for Sega of America. I've been working in game production for a little over 13 1/2 years now (which technically makes me an old timer).

The job makes me move a lot. Originally from Boston, the job has taken me in and out of LA (4 times), to Vancouver (twice), Utah, Tokyo (temporary) and now San Francisco.

Hobbies: Cars, video games, audio. Mostly 2 channel home audio. I just installed an HD projector in my living room so movies may become an actual hobby too. I'm pretty into music (I've got something like 180 gigs of music on a hard drive and haven't even started to rip my cd collection yet).

My SRT fact: I love this thing! I'm probably going to stay on the warranty friendly side of performance mods and will use visual mods to accent an already beautiful truck and shy away from anything too "bling". Light weight audio system coming

Name: John (call me JT)
Age: 26
Location: South Joisey
Family: Single (well not married...yet)
Occupation: Health & Physical Education teacher
Hobbies: Weight training/fitness, Tournament Paintball!!!!(played professionally for 2 years, total time playing = 16 years), working on my SRT-8 & VW, computers, computer games (city of villains/heroes!!!), GeoCaching, running, shooting sports, learning, spending time with my students.....etc.

My SRT fact: In October, my Mom passed away. I found her on the doorstep to my home, and attempted CPR. However, I knew she was gone. I say this because my Dad and I were never really close. Cars and shooting sports were our only commonality. However, when I purchased my SRT-8 after Mom died....it brought us closer than ever before. We finally had something that could take our mind off our loss, and it gave us something to share excitement over. A week after I bought mine, he bought his. These Jeep SRT-8's mean more to us than just something to drive.... These Jeeps brought a Father and Son together. They presented the prefect distraction we needed (and still need) to help us heal.

Occupation: Project Manager/Environmental Scientist
Hobbies: Enjoying family and friends, Eagles season tickeholder, staying at the Jersey Shore every weekend during the summer months, relaxing, relaxing and relaxng some more.

My SRT Fact: This is the first high performance vehicle I've ever owned. In fact I always looked down on high performance car owners and wish I hadn't. Speed is just too much fun!!! If I only knew then what I know now. Please forgive me :)
Also must add, probably my favorite momment in my beast was with it in park. Shortly after I purchased it the power to our home went out for hours overnight in heat and humidity. The wife, our two month old at the time and I laid down in the back with the seats down and the AC pumping and watched "Walk the Line" on the DVD.

Age: 32
Location: Toronto, Canada
Family: Single, although since I am one of the few left without kids, its probably time - wife will have to be first
Occupation: Part own a company with a friend servicing the North American railways, which includes providing crew transportation using a vehicle fleet of mostly dodge/chrysler minivans
Hobbies: Love my cars, boating, snowmobiling and recently bought my first motorcycle (sport bike) although sold it for new one that I'm waiting delivery of, also love golf, and play ultimate frisbee in summer, curling in winter, and working out

My SRT fact: I needed something to replace my S4 and a buddy showed me the Jeep SRT8 online. That was it. I tend to buy what I like and deal with the idiosyncrasies later. So far loving the truck and will be soon posting pics of my much needed hitch to tow my toys with.

Other motoring fact: for anyone that hasn't tried karting, and I mean 125 shifter karts, try if you get a chance. I almost bought one a few months back. Well over 100 mph and ridculous acceleration and g's in the turns. Only thing that stopped me is I wouldn't have time to use one, although I will still likely buy. I tried it once and now am hooked on the power.

"Go ahead, rip it," the saleslady said.

And I did. Three days later I picked up my beast.

Scott/Lonebull

Boars Head Brand route owner for 20 yrs,& the shortest Bouncer at Club Exit in Brooklyn for 8 yrs

Ran around single and partying for 35 yrs, decided to be normal and get married to a nice girl from a good family, after a year she wanted to start going out to clubs...i told her buh bye....2 yrs in court, lost half my money,N.Y. state law...luckily my custom Harley 98 road king was "stolen" during the court proceeding's,and found last year coincidently on the same block as my friends body shop in queens. untouched...lol...i didnt collect any money through insurance,i didnt have it insured at the time,so there was no follow up from the police, just a happy ending...lol
so i bought a cool little house a block away from the beach & the bar, in Bayville on long island, saw the SRT8,had to have it. gas was $3.70 at the time,so i figured i would use that for the weekends and hanging out,and bought an 07 hemi limited for everyday commuting, and the girlfriend uses it alot.i'm keeping the SRT8 stock, but having alot of fun modding out the limited.
i am definitely broke now and will have to work until i die...(looks up to god)may she die in a fire...lol

My SRT fact: We bought the Jeep Overland edition. But my wife remembered me bugging the sales guy about whether they would ever get an SRT8 (I'd read an internet review on it). He in fact did happen to have a sold one in back that they let us see and drive in the parking lot. I was hooked... when we went to pick up the Overland.. she said if you really want the Jeep SRT8... go ahead. I didn't buy this thing to just look at. Gas here is cheap and I plan to abuse and enjoy the hell out of it. I've been through 3 full sets of tires and ended up ordering brakes and rotors because I destroyed them on the track and the dealer hadn't stocked any parts at the time. Only 15k (9,300 miles) on the OD. :D

I am new to the board, I am doing research on the SRT8; I plan on buying one in Jan 08 for work. I feel guilty that I will be enjoying my work truck so much but it will have to be good for work and play.

I will have to travel a lot and gas will be a burden but what can you do.

Great to meet you all.

Name: Stephen

Location: Los Angeles

Age: 43

Occupation: Semi-Retired from Manufacturing and International Marketing. But bored out of my mind so starting to look for something to do. No complaints tho.

Family: right now two dogs - 8.5 year Rhodesian Ridgeback Simon, and a 4 year old Blue Doberman, Blade.

Hobbies: Too many to list, but cars are up there. Was a motorcycle guy too - with a BMW R1150 Rockster in orange/black, a BMW R1200C in black satin, and a Ducati Monster. But last year after a little cancer, i decided I did not want to be a daily Los Angeles statistic. A motorcycle driver is killed almost everyday in the LA area. So I sold them.

Interesting fact: The SRT8 is my 41st car. I've had 8 in the last two years alone. Interestingly enough - the SRT8 will probably be the only one I'll keep for an extended period of time. Planning on a 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage for my 45th birthday. Then no more cars for some time. My first car was a 1977 Ford Thunderbird. Anybody remember the length of the hood on those cars???

SRT Fact - with all it's minor shortcomings by far the funnest, and baddest (well, for under 150k) car to date. My only real gripe is the plastic - but i'm working on that. And I've never gotten more looks than I do in this one. That says a lot right there. Now...if I can just keep 84 year old senile men in SLK's, and valets away from me...i'll be just fine.
