I love my 06 Charger SRT-8, but with a new baby and 2 dogs, a GC would make trips easier.

The wife veto'ed the idea.....

She should talk to my wife then. My wife wasn't too thrilled about the GCSRT8 at first either but then once I started looking at Camaro, 370z, CTS -- she decided the GCSRT8 wasn't that bad.

Get it and de-badge it, she'll never know.....oh, wait, the seats . . . Damn. Sorry 'bout that.

Make her test drive one, thats how I got my wife to say yes.I basically found one at a dealer , and then later that day we were out and about, then made a EXTRA stop.Yup at the dealer made her test drive it and from there it wasno problem with getting one, only finding the right one.

Tell your wife that you are confused on why she wouldn't want a safer vehicle for your child.

I traded the Magnum in for the Jeep 'cause it is easier getting the kids in and out of the Jeep. Worked for me and the wife likes the Jeep much more than the Magnum

+1 turn this on around on her, you won't regret it.. She will realize your right, and say it was her idea to get it ;)

Trust me, it's not that easy to talk her into things.... She is extremely intelligent (Skipped the 3rd grade went from 2nd to 4th, Valedictorian of her high school, and went to college at Notre Dame.

She has an SUV and said we can just take hers on trips.

My brother-in-law works for Chrysler as an engineer and they are offering SRT's on the employee discount program now.

Sorry to hear that Paul, my wife loves it, so does Bruiser. BTW, we need to grab lunch again, say Morton's some time soon?

I hear ya, you've put some good work into it as well, at least things are good enough to be able to contemplate decisions like this too. I think next week may work, let me see what work has lined up for me next week and I will shoot you an e-mail, you know how my place works...

Has she ever driven the jeep srt8? Granted I love my charger and it is an attention getter. But the jeep is a sleeper and I have nothing but smiles after I have been in it. (although I don't enjoy driving it in the snow)

You have to find something that she values beyond it's intended purpose. Shoes? Pocketbooks? Gadgets? She has to 'love' something to obsession. Find that and explain to her that how she feels about X is how you feel about cars. That helped with my wife too. Once I made it a parallel to her love of fashion, she accepted it easier.

Get any traction in that thing?, if you're like me or worse since you have the SRT8, then just the AWD upgrade with 315/275 tires might be a worthy upgrade.
On the other hand, the Chargers look good, might wanna upgrade to an LSD rear end and keep it.

Hey Immo.

I had a CTS-V which was similar in size to the Charger and I found that it was just too small to have kids in. That said, the Jeep provides precious litttle back seat space. The cargo area is fine, but the back seats are tight. In fact, I had to turn off the "auto-exit" seat feature in the Jeep because the seat was getting too close to my daughters legs when I opened the door (and then it made it hard for her to get in to the vehicle the next time). That said, it's SOOOO much easier on your back when you don't have to scrunch down to secure the children into their carseats.

Skipped the 3rd grade went from 2nd to 4th,

uh oh... she must have watched a lot of baby einstein videos!

im sure she has some kind of hobby... thats what ive always used when people confront me about the car situation... (for instance i have a friend with a TDI jetta that always talks about gas mileage who thinks the jeep is a complete waste of money and gas... i just tell him that he collects guns, which i also enjoy, but i would rather have a nice car...) to me it is something that you are in everyday and you might as well enjoy it...

side bar (i know you already have a SRT so you aren't doing this) ive known many people that through life they saving every dime and always making the wise "financial decisions"... then when they find out they have cancer at 50 they dont have time to have fun and spend money like they planned on... i am not saying dont save but you gotta live life...

As long as it is not the $ that she is against as to the Jeep. I would just buy it.

I did not tell my wife when I bought my Jeep or the Charger I had before the Jeep. I just said I was going to the dealership to pick up my new car, be back in a bit.:D

BTW- My wife loves the Jeep and drives it every chance she gets.

It does suck gas. My R/T charger averaged 16mpg around town and my Jeep average 11.4mpg.

I know im just repeating what everyone else is saying..but if you hear it enough you might just give in. I had an charger r/t before i got the jeep.
And my wife didnt like the jeep at first either mainly because i didnt tell her i was getting it just woke up and bought it...lol, but after she drove it and showed up some local so called street racers she fell in love with it. Now dont get me wrong the charger does have more room and better gas but the jeep is so much fun and people always have a question to ask when they see it parked or hear it drive by...

I can get the employee price (brother-in-law works there) on it and they are doing 0% for 60 months and 500 cash back. That is over $10,000 is savings right there..... Not to mention soft cost like wear and time left on the factory warranty...
