guys and gals,
you will not believe what happened today at the dealer...
NOPE!
(it's not one of those threads again)

I had a brake issue involving the new slotted rotors and stock pads as a result of the track day at the California Speedway this past weekend.

Well I took the car into the dealer as I was told they turn the rotors there...
well, slotted cannot be turned on site...
they have to go out to a shop...

oh and if anyone is wondering this is all taking place at Rancho Auto Group dealer (yep, the same one that I had all of the paint problems with the body shop and 105 days without my car, blah, blah)
the one that was not going to work on my car ever again because the GM had to eat a $4,000 car rental bill.
well one fired GM later...
and several business discussions with the service manager and I'm back as of this morning...

dropped the car off and everyone took a look...
"we'll see what we can do"
got a call around 11am...
"Chris, your car is done call me"
4 hours and 3 meetings later - friggin' work (hehhee hate when that happens)
I called back...
car is ready...
Johnny K (the best service writer) tells me "it is "handled" and the front brakes have been "covered""...
HUH? I say...
the rotors and brake pads are brand new and have been covered...
As I am typing this I am debating on taking some of this out to protect the innocent and the dealer...
hmmm...
I get to the dealer and verify the above...
are you guys kidding me?
"no, chris the entire thing has been covered by warranty."
I mean guys, are you sure?
I was out racing and stopped at the gate entering the garage area for pedestrians (last time I do this after running on the track) and warped the rotors it felt like...
my fault right?...
"well it is covered"
YEAH BABY!!!
rancho auto group was getting all my business for service as it was an outstanding service department before this... I just had to work things out with the new gm and the existing service manager and get back together with them after the paint fiasco.
and to the service manager who I seeked out and personally thanked profusely and asked one more time "are you sure?"

after today...
customer for life...
I drove business there before, during and after (when I was no longer getting service there) my paint fiasco...
after today - every person in San Diego that owns anything dodge, chrysler or jeep needs to go to this dealership - period!


living right sometimes...
