you can do a 305/315 35 20 rear and a 275 40 20. I believe this keeps the factory circumference. These are OEM Porsche I think. PZero about 400 each.

Will that mess up the gear ratio at all??? Or any defect at all if the tires are changed for bigger???

I was recommended these from someone that did the conversions to keep the the Circumference as close to stock as possible, so you should not have any Problems, I will make this change when i finish roasting the stockers!!

They really need to come out with more options for our rigs in the Run Flat arena.

I know a lot of us are thinking of getting rid of the run flats for a better ride, but I don't want to have to be flat bedded in the event I get a flat.

Do like some of the Vette's do. Can of fix-a-flat along with a air compressor.

I agree we need more options, but you will not find a better ride out of a different type of runflat. The issue is in the sidewalls for the runflat ability.

I can not wait to ditch these tires

What's the width of our rims again? 9" front and 9.5" rear?

Already have 275-40 / 20 on front and back as snow tires and really don't want the run flats back on. I want the Michelin Diamaris 275-40/20 on the front already know they will work and the 315-35/20 on the back. I know we should have the run flats, but if you drive yours without them you will not want them back on either.

I remember seeing on here a while ago that some guy in the caribbean somewhere put 295/45 and 265/50 toyos on his ride. I guess the guy was pretty happy with it. I cant find that thread, I've looked back a few months but i cant find it. Does anyone else remember the thread i'm talking about?

9" front 10" back

Thanks. That makes me think we really shouldn't be running anything larger than 295s out back, 275s up front.

I just went to the tire size calculator and the 275/40/20 and the 315/35/20 tires are the best match up I have ever seen. They both are 90 inches in circumference and 28.7 in diameter. That will be my new combo when I need new shoes.Good Luck

Yeah, but the question is, can we run a 315 on a 10" wheel? How much sidewall bulge will there be? The BMWs run the 315 on an 11" wheel.

There was another guy on this forum who mentioned putting 315's on the rear (Nito? I believe). I am looking at putting 22 inch rims and I believe 305 is the widest size I can go on those. I've been told 22/25/305 (continental or pirelli) or something like that!

I just put 275/40/20 and the 315/35/20 Toyo Proxy ST's on the Jeep last week and so far I really enjoy the ride difference. There is no noticable difference in the shape of the tires except the Proxy's look much more aggressive. Only a hundred miles but all seems well thus far.

Hey Cyanklr,

My buddy runs the same tire on his TB SS, and said they are noisy. Are you getting any noise (squealing going around corners, or excessive road noise)?

Thanks

***Edit****

Got any pics of the new tires on your Jeep?

I have the Toyos in the 315 & 275 and mine are very quiet and ride very smooth.

So far the sound is less or equal to the RSA's. With the B&B being faily loud at all speeds, tire noise is rarely noticed. I have not pushed it around many curves yet, so not sure about corner squeal.

Clearance seems to be fine. I even have the BWoody links and they take up more room than the stockers on the drivers side and so far no problems.

I like the aggressive look and only miles will prove if the real tire factors hold up as well. I also liked the $760 I paid for all four shipped to the house.

I have the exact same tires you have and I'm glad to hear the BWoody links are not rubbing because my links are being installed tomorrow. I have had my tires now for 2 months with about 2500 miles on them and over a 100 races and they perform great. Not one single complaint.
I have these in the back of the jeep in case of a flat or slow leak.

I know I posted before about the BFG KDW's and everyone said they didnt like the road noise, but I think I wanna try them as couple of guys with vettes have loved them. My question is:

Do you think the following sizes will work even with the increased sidewall size. (i dont care if my speedo is off...i barely go the speed limit anyway! ;)

Front: 265/50: 20
Rear: 295/45: 20

How do you think it will look?

Go~RillaWRX, the tires will fit. Please see this post by idealrides (the guy in the carribean):

got my Toyo tires - 295/45 and 265/50 (http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144&highlight=tire)

When mine go, I want to do something like this as well.

Cool. I have seen that. Just didnt realize that was the sizes. I am going to try the BFG's as they are a much stickier tire.
