: Possible to buy new TCM w/ "AH" flash?

I'd like to buy a new TCM with the upgraded "AH" flash for my GC SRT8. Does anyone know of any dealers who will sell a new TCM with the "AH" flash upgrade performed? If so, please let everyone here know who that dealer may be and how much this might cost. Given all the discussion on this upgrade, if it's not too expensive, I'd prefer to just buy the extra TCM and have the ability to switch between the stock and upgraded programming. I'm guessing others may like this option as well.

Why would you ever want to go back to the original programming? I haven't heard of a single person here wanting to have the update undone.

Jus get the AH update for free and be done with it. However, if you're really serious, then any dealer should have the capability to get it for you. If not the AH revision, then a previous version TCM and the service department can then re-flash it for you.

To be honest, the main reason is cheap (hopefully) insurance. While I've not heard any general dissatisfaction on this site, there has been some negative comments about TCM upgrades (not all SRT Charger owners appear happy as an example). Given that it's irreversible, I just wanted to make sure I have the option of the TCM program that best suits my needs. (And the ability to do my own apples-to-apples comparison runs.)

Not a terrible idea....buy the new TCM (any revision level) and have IT flashed upon installation. Therefore, it does not matter what revision level it is, they are installing it and leaving the stock one alone. Perfect for back to back testing also. Wow, you may be on to something here! This coming from me who had the PCM re-flashed and wished I could go back to the way it would kick into 1st on the previuos version.

Please don't forget this is NOT the '06 TCM flash but an UNTRIED '07 flash.

Not sure if it matters but I think it would be a good Idea just incase you had some kind of other issues and had to take it to the dealer, In my opinion if i had to go to the dealer I would put the stock one back in so they dont see it or worse wipe it out!

So am I. Definitely feels more sluggish when accelerating say 20 to 60MPH. I know this is only a “seat of your pants” evaluation, but the GC definitely felt more “jumpy” pre-flash. Track times are probably the same.
Would go back in a heartbeat, if I could.

I haven't even seen this 07 flash bulletin on wkjeeps.com, when did this go live?

Are you talking about the PCM flash or the TCM flash?????
PCM I agree, I would not have it done again....TCM I do not believe anyone has had it done yet.

Sorry for the confusion. I was refering to the dealer TCM flash for the '06 (TSB 21-020-06).
Smoother shifts, but in my opinion not as aggressive accelerating.

It was explained to me that the flash does not allow the torque converter to flash up as fast and that may be what your feeling. The aftermarket TCM flashes loosen up when the converter fully engages.....not great for gas mileage but your acceleration should improve.

Thanks for the info. Are the aftermarket TCM flashes for the '06 or '07 (or both)? Also, who is selling them? Any site sponsers?

Thanks again,

The GENERAL has a '06 modified TCM from GSM. They should have the '07 shortly...you may want to call them directly as I did.
