There are 16 pieces still available. They are not be mirror polished but are machined to a nearly mirror finish. They are CNC machined right here in the USA out of 6061 aluminum. The are approximately 6" long and 3/8" in diameter.

How is the reception affected? How much worse than stock?

The only effect that is noticeable is reception inside of parking garages. I can't tell any difference at all once I am outside.

With any 6" antenna, you will sacrifice reception, especially on the FM. But they do look nicer than what come standard.
