AirForce Hemi 11-05-2009, 02:01 PM Im still Deployed and I have my Jeep with my Buddy. His taking care of it till I get back. I want to buy Eibach springs and have them shipped to him and he'll install them. Where is everyone who have the Eibachs getting them from? Straight from Eibach?
Thanks

Sure thing bro! Just ordered mine as well. and was able to talk them down. So I ended up paying 232.00 for them shipped to my door. All I need is the Sway Bars and then I can install everything at one time.
yungsrt 11-07-2009, 06:10 PM Where did you get em?
I'm looking for Eibach's also.
YoungMedic23 11-07-2009, 06:17 PM I thought Eibachs had problems....what makes them such a hot item now?
DCSpecial 11-07-2009, 10:32 PM I thought Eibachs had problems....what makes them such a hot item now?
Never had any issues with mine.
My rear bumpstop tower is modded though.
I prefer their ride and stance over the Bwoody/Road Magnet springs.
DAZ213 11-08-2009, 02:33 AM Where can I buy Eibach springs shipped to Europe ?
Eibach is a german brand but they dont sell the SRT8 springs here

I'm looking forward to droppin my rig. Please inform me on the difference in the stance and ride. I was wondering which brand to get. I thought the BWoody's were preferable. School me here:confused:

Bwoody's are a 1.0" front/1.7" rear drop
Eibachs are a 1.0" front/ 1.1" rear drop.
If you look at the tire to body gap front and rear, a lot of the Jeeps with the Bwoody/Roadmagnets have less gap in the rear than in the front. Makes it look they they are sagging.
Eibach springs are firmer than stock, the Bwoody/Road Magnets are softer than stock in the rear. So, on fairly smooth roads the Bwoody/Road Magnets are going to ride softer. On the medium and bigger bumps, the Eibachs are going to handle better as they are firmer. The Eibachs absorb the bigger bumps better and in a more controlled manner vs. the Bwoodys that will bounce more due to their soft spring rate in the rear.
Overall, I suppose the best way to describe the Eibach ride is more of a "Performance Ride"...firm and controlled, great for handling.
Eibach uses a foam bumpstop in the rear (fairly soft you can compress by hand somewhat) while Bwoody/Road Magnet uses a Energy Suspension Polyurethane bumpstop (hard as a rock). So when you do hit the stops the Eibach stop will give you some cushion while the Bwoody one will not.
I'd like Eibach to make a spring exactly like their current setup, but a 1.0" front and maybe a 1.3" rear for the ultimate ride and stance.
These are just my opinions from driving my Jeep with the Eibachs for the last 5000 miles or so, and from driving Jeeps with Bwoody/Road Magnets about 5 times so far.
Note: on my Eibach springs I cut down the rear bumpstop tower some to prevent the bottoming out issue that many complained of (basically cut the stock tower in half).
Ultimately, it's all personal preference and the best advice I can give you is to try and take a ride in each setup and decide for yourself.
BOYCHIKS 11-11-2009, 12:19 PM ^^^ Dan, def agree with what you've said, and I have been wanting to order me a set of eibachs for the rear as I only have the Bwoody's on the front... Due to the rears making my jeep bounce constantly!!!

Don't forget to modify the rear bumpstop tower. Or some guys just remove it. Mine is just shortened.

Ha, I know I have to buy them in a pair.. I'd only install the rear since there isn't to much difference with the fronts.. PLus the hassle of taking those off...
Let me know how it rides :D

Yeah it makes sense since the Eibach and Bwoody fronts are pretty close Johnny. Will let you know how I like the ride man!

DAMN!!!! I'm sold. Thanks for the in depth answer. With the crappy roads I have where I live, sounds like the Eibachs are the ones I need. I read about what has to be done to the rear bumpstop before. Thanks for your imput.

Your Beast looks nice with the Drop bro! Hey what did you end up doing with the rear bump stop? I tried to use the Eibach supplied rear bump stop with the end cap and some smaller bolts, but I looked around for the size that I needed and could not find any in the length that I wanted. So I ended up installing the stock tower with the stock bumpstop and it seems to ride fine. So far no bottoming out.

I'm Doing the work for him dice he is out of the country I cut the stock ones for now to get it going and see how it is I'll end up nodding the es ones though

Cool! So did you cut the stock bumpstop and tower down or just the stock bump stop? After looking at the Kit it said to use the big silver spacers and I decided not to because there would be less travel in the rear and wouldprobably bottom out for sure then. I used the stock tower with the stock bump stop and did not cut or trim anything and it seems to be okay.
ShaneH 11-16-2009, 09:26 PM just cut the factory stop for now not the tower..
like i said sometime in the next few weeks im gonna go back and mod the ES setup for more clearance.
AirForce Hemi 11-17-2009, 04:48 AM I trust whatever you do Shane. I know you'll do it right!
Knuckles I love your Jeep. Only other color I like becides Black. lol
DCSpecial 11-17-2009, 05:21 AM I'd recommend cutting either the factory tower or the Eibach tower and using the supplied Eibach bumpstop w/o cutting the bumpstop itself.
I wouldn't use an Energy Suspension poly-urethane bumpstop either.
ShaneH 11-17-2009, 10:54 AM I keep saying es as in eibach suspension sorry not energy suspension
yea I'll Jack up the back and do the eibach bumps w/o the tower should give good clearance for rear travel
The setup I have Now works good except for hard dips/bumps on the highway
only took me like 20 mins to do the back so it's not a thing to do
it again

I am going to leave it with the stock tower and stock bump stop. So far I have not bottomed out and if it does bottom out then I will try your suggestions Dan. The thing was that we could not find the right length Hex head screw that was a M10 X1.50 pitch. So if I do start to notice bottoming out then I will go the route you said. Also what can I used to make a nice clean cut on the big silver spacer? If I gave you the spacer Dan, would you be able to cut it for me?
bcm0018 11-17-2009, 11:39 AM Didnt eibach fix the bumps stops?? I thought they redesigned them due to the bottoming out issue to prevent us from having to modify them.
ShaneH 11-17-2009, 12:10 PM They shipped 2 silver towers that were 2 pieces a side and a bump stop for each side

Yeah my Kit came with the big silver spacers, silver end cap, and Eibach bump stop, and a 3 1/8" long M10 x 1.50 pitch bolt for each side as well.

No I haven't got an email from them for the 15% off yet. You can try to BS them to try and get the 15% off if not I can email you the code when I get it man. I will check again today.

To get a nice, even cut I'd recommend a bandsaw or chopsaw, etc.. Something fixed that you can clamp the spacer down in. I'd try an exhaust shop, machine shop, etc..
I have cut-off tools, but nothing like either of the above.
Didnt eibach fix the bumps stops?? I thought they redesigned them due to the bottoming out issue to prevent us from having to modify them.
Yes, but their spacer setup they include is just as long if not longer than the stock setup.
They shipped 2 silver towers that were 2 pieces a side and a bump stop for each side
What we did was cut my stock bumpstop tower in half and used the Eibach bumpstop.
Or, cut the tall Eibach spacer down so that it's only 1-1.25" tall.
Or, some guys just don't use the tall Eibach spacer and just use the cup and spacer.
Note: you'll most likely catch the exhaust with the diff housing either way....worse with the spacer completely removed.
Knuckles 11-17-2009, 04:00 PM Thanks Dan! I take it your boy cut it at his shop for you then.
DCSpecial 11-17-2009, 04:06 PM Thanks Dan! I take it your boy cut it at his shop for you then.
Nope......both he and I were too busy at the time with work to do the install (spring time means 90-100hr weeks for me). I took it to a local shop and paid them to do it since I had no patience to wait.
The shop that did the install cut it....no idea what they used though, LOL.
A cut-off tool would work, but much easier to get a nice cut on a band saw or chop saw.

ill pull it apart this weekend most likely and see what the best route is.
ill prob use the cup of the eibach kit with the bumpstop
ShaneH 11-17-2009, 08:10 PM just walked into the garage and looks like if i use the cup that holds the Eibach bumpstop and dont use the BIG spacer it will get it where i need.

Yep, that's what a lot of guys do.
My Eibachs were prior to all of that....all Eibach used to sent when the kit was first released was the foam bumpstop, nothing else.
As I mentioned above the exhaust will most likely smack the diff housing of the rear axle at some point. No big deal though.

No issues with any speed bumps yet , but the front spoiler has scrapped a few times already on some inclines.
ShaneH 11-22-2009, 06:21 PM ok took 20 mins yesterday removed the factory stop and tower.
Used the small cup/eibach bumpstop holder.
had some shorter hardware laying around and used it to bolt up the eibach stuff.
Put it all together and cut a little off the eibach stop
WOW what a difference has about 1/2-3/4" more space highway is ALOT bettter.
ltdan 06-29-2010, 07:35 AM So regarding the original post, where is the best place to get the SRT8 eibachs?
