hi guys, as you might have seen i took my beast back to the dealer last week as my steering wheel was blistering and peeling, they took some pictures and said they would send them to chrysler UK,
today i got a call from them saying that the peeling was down to wear and tear:mad::mad: , i told him that if after 12k miles the material started to perish then it was not fit for porpose
he replied that there was not a problem with the materials:eek::eek:boohoo::
i went in for the kill. i told him that if he wanted that i could print off pages from this forum of guys who had had the wheels repaired or replaced
( ray from ayrshire even had his repaired in the same dealership a few weeks ago )

when i had finished all he couild mumble was that he would get back onto chrysler with the points i had raised

if anyone has had a problem with the wheel peeling /blistering , could you chime in , thanks guys

When I bought my rig two months ago the steering wheel was peeling at the top. They ordered a new one under warranty without question and I had it within a week.

I have an 07 that was peeling and I went in and showed them and they didnt even hesitate on ordering a new one under warranty! They ordered it and installed it no questions asked! Easiest trip I have had to the dealer.

Brian, my steering wheel has been fine so far but my previous GC LTD seat leather started to split on the drivers side. The dealer took pics and Jeep gave the go ahead for a replacement. So I don't see why you should'nt get the same service. That is what the warranty is for!

Point out to the dealer that it is not only a cosmetic issue, but a safety issue as well.

The dealer replaced my steering wheel, no questions asked. Like above, one of the easiest transactions ever at the dealer, they were great about it.

I had mine replaced @ 9k miles....yes they replaced it....however, it took them 4 yes 4 months to get one (this was east hills jeep dealer)....they said it was a specialty item and had to wait for a few more then just one to be tooled up in order to get one....bs I think but whatever....good luck brian!!!

Mine has been peeling for way too long. I brought it in to a dealership almost two years ago and they refused to do anything. They blamed me and said it was my hand lotion. LOL :D
