: Break Squeak is Gone
34z28 03-26-2007, 06:47 PM Thanks to Jeep/SRT8 customer service and my local Jeep dealership. They replaced all rotors and pads to address my squeak and grooved rotors.
Now my squeak is gone. I also bedded the brakes on the way home from the dealership. I has been over a week and 500 plus miles and still no squeak.
ineedspots 03-26-2007, 08:59 PM was it all under warranty?? i have the squeak too, i just hit 7,000 miles... i was going to take it to the dealer one of these days... keep me updated, thanks :D
Str8Srt8 03-26-2007, 09:09 PM I'm dying to get my squeaks gone! Blaaaaaah! Windows up don't help! It's coming in through the vents!
34z28 03-26-2007, 10:09 PM Yes, all under warranty. I have 7k on my GC as well. I reported the problem at 1k miles. Lucky I waited, the front rotors developed groves and after some persuasion they replaced all 4 rotor and new pads. I got jeep customer service and a SRT customer service rep involved. It would not have happened without their assistance
HawaiianGroove 03-27-2007, 12:21 AM My Jeep goes in on Wednesday for the exact problem. They are replacing all 4 rotors and pads. Hope thats the trick!

LOL,
I sure wish I could get service like that. I took mine in to have the tires looked at and they laughed... Said I would have to get the dealer to fix the problem causing the tires to wear unusually excessively.... and then maybe they might replace the road hazard damage. Only problem now is I am awaiting new pads and rotors due to my last full day of racing....

The dealer will not help, they told me grooved rotors were normal. I called jeep customer service and SRT customer service which instructed the dealer to make the changes.
Since the dealer only sees a handful of GC SRT's of course he has not heard of this issue.
I mention it every time I am in for an oil change. I'm hoping one of these times they will get sick of me saying it and just fix it. Not holding my breath though.

Just had the same procedure done at my local dealership. I could still hear a bit of a squeek in the rear...... but it's only been about 15 miles on new rotors and pads. Is this normal?

Most dealerships and a few people here will tell you it is.

I left a message for the dealer who installed new rotors and pads yesterday. Well see what they say. But before I brought it in, they said it wasn't normal. I've owned a few performance cars, I've never once had this problem with any of them. So I can't see why people would say it's normal??? Oh well, I will wait to hear what my dealer says.... I will keep everyone updated.
