I made a camera mount from Home Depot parts and wanted to try it at E-Town. Nothing special about the run. Just felt like posting it. I wanna make a better one so I can get a view of the cars I race but this was for starters. I had the E-Town radio station on so the track announcer is who you hear.

Eddie, nice race, but did you let off before the finish line? It looks to me like you did, by the location of the Time Board.. I'm very familiar with that track and I think you did :).
BTW, let's see pics of the camera mount, I need to take more videos like that.

Ok. Go to Home Depot and get yourself a 3/4"x3/4" aluminum square tube and two 1/4" " "U" bolts. You can also find the 3/4" end caps for the opening on the end of the aluminum tube. Drill 4 holes so that the center of each pair of holes lines up with the posts on the head rest.
Tube with "U" bolts. I spray painted mine black but you get the picture. I believe the U bolt came with regular nuts but I got wing nuts to make it easier so there's no need for tools.

Here's my lame drawing to give you an idea of where the headrest posts will line up with 4 holes you drill all the way though the aluminum tube.

And if you don't have one already, you're going to need the part of a tripod that the camera mounts to. You'll have to improvise on how you mount it to the tube but here's mine because they're all different. I drilled another hole towards the end of the tube that would be hanging off and in between the two seats. Just a 2 1/2" bolt through the center of the mount to hold it.

Very easy to do and very sturdy once all wing nuts are tightened down really good. Another cool thing is that my camera has a remote so there's no awkward silence before stopping the recording. Lol.
