: TBSS Beatdown....
MMGCSRT8 10-28-2009, 09:42 AM So I went up to my local track on Friday night to make some passes before it closes for the winter. I saw this TBSS at the beginning of the night and was hoping to get matched up with him later on. Well it finally happened on my last pass of the night. Hope you guys enjoy.<object width="853" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/db8aLf7dx5k&hl=en&fs=1&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/db8aLf7dx5k&hl=en&fs=1&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="853" height="505"></embed></object>

suzieque 10-28-2009, 11:33 AM good run!
the TBSS number looks a bit better than a stock TBSS, so I'm guessing the owner had done some minor mods.

Harrison@Stage6 11-02-2009, 06:52 PM Someone needs to go on the TBSS board and post this as an SS owner and say that they just don't understand how this happend! That was an embarrassment.

MMGCSRT8 11-02-2009, 07:47 PM MMGCSRT8 How did you make out at the track on Sunday ?
I went up on Saturday and saw a couple other guys there for the test and tune/mopar day. All my passes were 12.7s. Overall it was a good day except for the two cars that hit the wall. They're not totaled but still never a good thing when that happens.

Yeah i heard !!! Nice numbers you being putting down , same as mine , But one thing i notice is that you trap high , i wonder if the combo Borla + 4" Bwoody CAI is doing that . What are your 60' ?

Yeah I noticed that I trap high too. The fastest I've ran was 108.19 mph and my best 60' is 1.793 but I consistantly get low 1.8s for my 60'. I've started to wonder why my trap speeds are a little higher than other guys running the same times?confused:

Has to be those German tires :D !!!!
Yeah man Phil thinks is the Borla + Bwoody combo!!! My 60' also were 1.822-1.833 5 times out of 6 runs i made @ NED , And we have basically same mods . So the CAI or the Borla is helping you up top ;)

Its gotta be the tires hahaha. Everyone who sees them asks me "What kind of tires are those?" Hopefully when NED opens up on April 1st I'll have a little something extra to improve those times.;)

Nice comeback... With a good motor tune prolly around 12.4 - 12.5 area, right now with 8-10 degrees missing from my timing tables i run 12.6-7 on motor.. im about to fix that problem soon though with a timing twister or similar so i can switch back and forth with ease... personally i would never piss on anyones vehicle.. well, maybe a ford...lol

Real impressive numbers , WOW It takes that much mods to get them to run in the 12's hun ?

Yeah, of course there are exceptions in some of them, but it takes a little more than your jeep.. the tbss wasnt set up quite as extreme from the factory as the GC for race duty.. but the nice thing is we have a little more to work with in the long run...
1fastfamilyman 11-14-2009, 06:35 PM Real impressive numbers , WOW It takes that much mods to get them to run in the 12's hun ?
Not necessarily. His set-up is geared more towards nitrous, so his N/A times aren't going to be as good. All it took for me to get into the 12's was a CAI, converter, tune, and drag radials. :)

Same mods i have except for the converter !!! What are your exact 1/4 numbers now , and what does the TBSS 2WD runs stock high 13.9 low 14's ? Also what would be your numbers minus the Converter ?

There are at least a couple H/C/Bolt-on TBSS's in the 11s, but picking the right H/C combo is tricky with these things (as I'm sure you SRT8ers can relate).

Converter.

2wd that is,no honkin transfer case.Probobly add at least .5 to 1 sec n the 1/4. Dont SS's have 4.10's factory but only 4 speeds?
Butch 11-17-2009, 05:14 AM You guys love the converters does it help you guys a lot ?
Yes, on average a 3200-3600 converter will knock about .5 sec off a TBSS 1/4 ET. The GCSRT8 stock trans and converter are a big reason you're so much quicker than a TBSS stock vs stock.

Lol....it's nowhere near that much of a difference between a 2wd and AWD. In the TBSS's, there's only about .2 of a difference between them.
My personal best has been a 12.60 @106. Us TBSS guys love the converter so much because of the crappy 4-spd auto and super tight factory converter. Unlike you JGCSRT8 guys who have the 5-spd auto's and a VERY loose factory converter. It's almost like a 28-3000 factory converter! lol I run a Yank SSTB 3600. :)

Oh I thought the 4wd stock TBSS's were running right at 14 flat and the 2wd guys were running 13-13.5 stock. I almost bought a SS and I do like em, but around here for used ones they want only a hair more for the SRT8's. Nice times
